You get what you pay for as a mechanic.I think the companys are makeing all the money.As a mechanic i will not take a job for 15.00 dollars a hr.You need to pay good money for a good mechanic not 9 or 15 dollars.If all the mechanics stood toghether we could get some respect.Please note i have 15 years ex.as a mechanic in a dealer ship.No wounder there is a shortes of mechanic.And show me a mrg. that is not a lier .Thats is a big turn overe toin the mechanics field. |

If you want to get more money, then go for employment at the Porsche or Ferrari dealership. Nearly anyone with a decent mechanical aptitude can fix the normal cars that a person brings to Pep Boys. It takes a bit more finesse to jump into a Rolls Royce (as example) and do the work without leaving so much as a fingerprint inside it. |
