I was just hired by Pepsi and I'll tell you the truth, compared to the competition (which by the way are laying off as we speak), Pepsi is doing very well, intorducuing many new products and hiring frequently, if you are interested in a career with Pepsi visit www.pbgcareers.com.

I.T. job seeker in Poughkeepsie, New York

I'm looking for a job as a Software Engineer, and I was told that 450 people work in Information Technology in PBG headquarters in Somers NY. Sometimes I look at the PGB online job listings for I.T. jobs and I'll see the same job advertised for months going unfilled. Is Pepsi really picky when it comes to hiring I.T. workers? I've heard it's almost as hard as getting into places like Microsoft or Google.

If anyone was recently hired as a software engineer at Pepsi Bottling Group at the Somers HQ, what was the hiring process like? Do they grill candidates over their technical skills.

I heard that some consultants who were working on I.T. projects got reprimanded for carrying around empty bottles of Poland Spring for refilling at the water cooler. Only Aquafina bottles are acceptable. That sounds a little bit anal-retentive to me. Is the water cooler filled with Aquafina? I doubt it. Lighten up, Pepsi!
