I was considering applying for the PetSmart Hotel Night hours of 10pm-7am. Does it pay better than the day shift? I saw on the application that you will be trained in "other" departments and asked to work in those departments as well? I only want night shifts - so would I be "forced" to take day shift hours and run the cash register in the store? I know the pay probably varies by location - but would anyone mind sharing what, on average, they make? I found a locally owned small pet daycare that pays $8.50/Hour, but no benefits. I read that PetSmart has benefits - Do you pay for them out of your paycheck, or is it free? Thanks!

By other departments, they are referring to Guest Services aka the front desk or Pet Care Specialist. As far as needing/wanting only overnight shifts, that shouldn't be a problem as that is the Hotel's hardest area to fill positions for. No, there is no shift differential for the NPCS(Night Pet Care Specialist- 'overnighters') unfortunately pays the same as what a daytime PCS would make. I don't feel disclosing my pay rate, but I can tell you that how much you make will depend on prior job experience and your last hourly pay rate.
As for benefits, full-timers can elect to get medical, vision, and dental benefits w/ optional life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance as well. Nothing in life is free, so the costs are deducted from your weekly paycheck. Part-timers can get benefits too after being with PS for 90 days (I think!), but I am not sure what they cover and what they don't. This reply is rather late, but hope it helped!
