Starting salaries are average. Project bonuses, don't hold your breath, profit sharing is pretty good. You will not get rich on a Kiewit income; The deal is the stock program, its one of the best deals going. Benefits are OK, but the cost of medical benefits are close to the best there is. The stated holiday and vacation days are average, but don't plan on getting to use them.
You will work your tail off and learn a lot. There is nowhere else that you will learn building better. You become an expert, lots of training, lots of opportunity. Plan on being the best, or plan on leaving. Early in your career your skills carry you; later your relationships will.
Also, don't plan on having much of a life, 60 hour weeks are the norm, unless you work the night shift then ++. There is talk about Work Life Balance, that is what it is - talk. Many of the mid level people think bringing their guys together off hours is what they want: play cards, golf, drink you have to play the game. Great if that is what you are into, not great if you have a family you want to keep.
When on travel plan on working hard and partying, it is pretty good if you can handle it. The partying can approach debauchery.
Senior management is about as arrogant and close minded as can be possible. But when your running a company that successful your poop might not stink.
Give it a go. If you have already had a few jobs, don't bother.
