After working there for 10 years, I can say Pfizer is a great place to work for. Unfortunately, it is going through some very tough times and I left almost a year ago of my own choosing. Be aware that Pfizer has some products going off patient right now (in 2006 and 2007 this includes Zyrtec, Zoloft, and Norvasc which amount to $8.6 billion in sales in 2006) and the new products cannot hope to pick up all the sales losses (two you may have heard of are Sutent and Chantix). Sales are expected to drop from $48.4 billion in 2006 to $41.7 billion in 2008, or almost a 20 percent decline in revenues. Pfizer optimistically says they will be flat, but I do not see how they can stay flat with huge revenue losses of this nature. Friends at the company state if you are going for a junior position it is still a good place to work right now. Anything too senior, wait a year to see how things pan out before applying. Good luck with it - it can be a great place to work. |
