Every business has it's own style. What is the office environment and culture like at Pure Weight Loss?

Are people dressed in business casual, jeans and t-shirts, or full-on suits? Do folks get together for Friday happy hours and friendly get-togethers?

What is a typical day in the life of an employee at Pure Weight Loss?

Suits. Drama, nastiness and unkind supervisors is the norm.

In the past two months this company has changed many key positions,
cut hours at centers and the inventory in many centers is low.
It looks like the name change in August didn't help. The employees at this company are well dressed and positive, but they are also pushed for sales constantly.

The entire place is falling apart. Supervisors were making 100 g's and now are making 40. Counselors and managers are making below minimum wage. In Los Angeles, we lost every single good supervisor because they all couldn't take it anymore so they all quit. They fired over 40 people and for the rest of us, we are getting paid peanuts, slashed the hours of our centers and refuse to send us products. It's scary!

I am agreeing with los angeles on this one. The company is falling apart and will not be staying open, at least in centers. He did hire the program director for Nutrisystem to help out in the internet sales which is where he is planning to go fully. The owner has also tried starting a new concept known as rain skin and these centers in the past few weeks have taken tremendous cuts. They do not care about the clients but last Friday told everyone that the centers are now only going to be open part time hours and to just post a sign.!!! So many people have quit, centers are not opening on time. ITS A HUGE JOKE. They discriminate and manipulate people to do things. The main person who does that is Michelle Blum a divisional manager. That woman will talk you into doing anything but when it comes down to it she has never worked a day in her life. All she does is snoke cigarettes and talk on the phone and there a LOT OF PEOPLE that will agree with that, probably just not to her face. Anyway to all the employees and clients that were affected by the downsize, sorry.

Oh and by the way for the supervisors that are making 40,000 in Texas and California....other supervisors are still making the 57,500 on the east coast. So yes you are getting the short end of the stick there....and don't let them tell you its because your centers are only open part-time. Its the same everywhere.

I worked for the company for years and years, they took all integrity by cutting good hard working people out, they reward the wrong ones

Here in Florida things are the same as everywhere else! I cannot believe what has happened! The no-face CEO's of this compnay are some lucky and very smart individuals! What a successful scam they have pulled off. The sad part about it is that they hurt our clients right in the middle of a life changing event...weight loss that was actually working when nothing else had ever worked!!! Pure also slapped its employees in the face. We were left to do all of the nasty work, for less than $6.67 per hour. On Monday, September 17, 2007 we grand opened as Pure. On Monday, December 11, 2007 I received the call from my area supervisor that in five days, Dec. 14th, 07, we would be closing the center. With no warning...we were still a full time center and had been on top 10 list multiple times. We did around $80K in rev during the 87 days as Pure Weight Loss. Our weight loss average was around 3.46 pounds per week!!!! Our referrals were extremely high... there was no reason we couldn't be profitable. It all boils down to BAD business minds with deep pockets!!! I hope all you BIG SHOTS behind this enjoy your little off shore accounts you probably have....NICE JOB! How do you sleep at night? I lost so many hours of sleep and became very ill because of the stress you caused. I loved my job because it was very rewarding to help men, women and children better themselves! The sad part about it all is that there is really nothing the clients can legally do, Pure had an excellent EXIT PLAN figured out! They still owe me for two weeks pay, $100 cash bonus for a silly contest I won and an expense check. After speaking with another previous employee, I discovered her bank would not cash her expense check due to insufficient funds. To all others like me, best of luck and don't give up. IF you truly loved your job with Pure, you are an amazing and unique person. Our job was difficult and required us to "wear many different shoes"!!! Use that and go far! Life is too short...LIVE WIDE!

I really am not name dropping on this site, but it was mentioned in Vegas. The conversation I heard was clear as day that the company was not doing well and things were about to get ugly if changes were not made. All these big shot Managers were stealing from the the company for to long. When I say stealing I am referring to the money they were paid.Really they do nothing but crunch numbers. The company gave up, they should have dropped the ridiculous amount of money they were paying these Mangers first.

managers?? I was a manager since August and I sure wasn't making big money. After I went on commission I was averaging 8.50 per hour and it came out to less than my councelor. If anyone was making big money it was the supervisors who called each day to see how much you had on the books and didn't help in any way.

You ALL had to know this was coming. Vahan (Which is not how his name is really spelled) lost his mind and business sense the minute he started sleeping with one of his VP's. And, PEOPLE....Vahan Karian isn't even his REAL name!!!!!
He has always been a scumbag. And, so have the slobs (Chris B.) who stayed (slept) with him for years. The smart ones got out or pushed out years ago.

His real name is Vahan Karabajakian.
Some of us are tired of being mad, so we decided to get even.
We started a website called DEAR VAHAN: where anyone can write a message or a letter to Pure Weight Loss CEO Vahan Karian and post it. When we have enough, we are going to print them out and personally deliver them to him in a creative way that will be featured on the site. Add your comment or read them so far here:

There's also good information and LA Weight Loss rumors at:

I may never see my money, but I'll make sure he knows whose money he's spending!
