I work at a center in the Louisville area. We too have started our "spring hours". I feel so sorry for the clients. We really care about them, they are like family to us. It is unfortunate that I have to live in this community and face these people after we close. It is my hope that they understand we have to pay our bills until we find another job. The only contact we get from upper management concerns our revenue. I understand that this is a business and we have to turn a profit. I also understand that a successful business supports their employees and provides them with the staff they need to provide customer service. We got neither. They are telling us if revenue increases we may not close. They also tell us that it is our fault our center is doing poorly.I can assure all of you that we provide our clients with excellent service. The only reason I have stuck it out as long as I have is because of them. If you are a client please know that your staff really does care about your success. I will never forget my experience here and the wonderful friendships I have made along the way. I wish every one success and good health.

know how you feel...alot of prayers for clients and staff are happening...so sad to see the end not ready to face it yet will hang in there till the end....the girls in my jk center are awsome and do want to help me.....they will be missed i will continue to pray for a turn around........

Bella- Have they made any announcements yet that the Jackson center is closing? Do you think they will based on what you see?

No they have not made any statements of that kind....and lets face it no matter what lots of small businesses are having hard times people are holding on to what little money they have right now with the price of gas and everything else going up people are not out spending money in fact i saw a 30 min informercial for la yesterday in my area and it was great....i would hate for them to not be here but they have taken a hard punch from 20-20 than pure just shutting doors and lots of bad things all over the internet....People are all over the place saying they are cheats La works but its not a majic wand they can wave over you and I know first hand how much it cost but none of those girls have ever twisted my arm to buy things I buy them because i want them i myself have spent about 6 thousand over the years but i would have spent that eating out buying junk or trying over the counter diet aids...i have lost 44 lbs and its worth every penny to me.....

My sister goes to a San Diego franchise LAWL. Do you know if they are closing or have you heard anything that I can pass along.

You go into your center with all your mightiness and demand all of your boxes. You even take the less desirable ones if need be. Those girls don't know what's going on. They are just doing what they are told.

If you don't, my dear, I am afraid you'll go there one day and they will inform you the doors are closing (or they will be closed) and that they are going to try to get you what you paid for.

You bought them and I suggest you go and get them!!

Also, just for fun... ask, ahead of schedule, for your stabilization and maintenance guides. They may not want to give them, but I am sure you know one of them on a personal basis... just say you are interested in how the program gets finished up.

You can find lite bars on ebay. I bought 2 cases, and they are fresher than those I got at the center. There are many products available.

You can do the 2 day protein and veg every 14 days. You could also buy the Fast Forward on ebay.

Hello, there! I started LAWL in the spring of '07, lost 20 of the 30 pounds I wanted to lose and then had to put things on hold while we finalized an adoption. The dust is settling from that and I'm devestated that the centers in my state (WA) are closed!

I wonder if people could help me with two things. First, I'd love to continue with the Lites, but short of eBay, I can't get any. Does anyone know of a good substitute? Someone somewhere suggested two veggies and a fruit instead, but the fudge one really helped curb my chocolate cravings.

Second, I never made it to the maintenance and stabilization phases. I was on the gold plan. Does anyone have any information on those phases?

The bars on Ebay are not that fresh anymore, I just checked on
an item this morning and the expiration date was August 08..
That isn't even 6 months shelf life left...who wants to pay
20 some dollars for bars that are almost shot....I am glad I
didn't sell all mine, but I plan to go to Balanced Gold bars
or one of the others with 8 grams of Protein to stay on this
plan...I love the eating plan but will miss the bars...

I did great on the LA Weight Loss plan, but I have gained some weight back. I want to start over. When the centers closed, I was on the gold plan and within 10 pounds of my goal weight. I do have one bottle of the Fast Forward juice. Can someone tell me how to start over with the weight loss plan? I know how much juice juice to drink each day, but I can't remember if I am supposed to eat as much protein as I want for that two days, or if there is a certain amount I need to eat. Also, what amount of veggies do I eat?

I appreciate any help I can get.

Hi I was a former client too. I never used the Fast Forward plan. I just went on my meal plan and followed that and consistently lost weight. I had to start over too so I just began with my plan and I continue to lose every week. You guys don't need to use those things (unless you really want to) for the plan to work just as you don't need the lites. I never used the lites either and lost like crazy. Find something else that is cheap to help with the cravings. Just thought I would share my experiences with you.

Thank you for your reply. I have the Fast Forward; that's why I thought I would use it. What do you do instead of the lites?

Well the plan that I follow has 4 starches, 4 vegetables and 3 fruits. I eat two fats a day instead of one. I added the extra fat and it didn't change anything. I can't eat soy which is why I can't eat the lites. I don't get to have the snack every day but when I have a craving I eat the Skinny Cow "large" fudge pops. That does the trick for me but since you are used to having something every day like the lites, you may want to go to the health store and find a replacement. Many of the people on here are former employees of Pure so they must know which bars work and which ones don't. Though I only have 25-30 lbs to lose they put me on the red plan. I do manage to get 4 days of exercise in a week so I believe that was figured in when they suggested that plan. Hope this helps

The bars I ordered expire in December 2008. I guess it depends who you but them from. Always ask before you buy.

You can do the protein and veg every two weeks. You can also use Luna Bars instead of lites. If your using lites switch to the red plan, if your not using lites stay on red 1

Has anyone heard of a lawsuit in IL? A friend of mine received something in the mail from a lawyer - but I never did. The company owes me like $600! And of course I want my money back - I filled a report with Lisa Madigan and the Better Business Bureau. Please let me know if anyone has heard of anything in Illinois

It's true that the employees who were there loved helping clients. You had to love helping them to stay because God knows the pay was lousy and got even worse. When people made the comment that it was all about the money they were actually referring to the company.

I need to go back in to the weight loss part and I actually have the Fast Forward juice. If I want to do take off, is it unlimited protein and unlimited green vegetables? I have some of the Hot Chocolate Lites but not any of the bars. Can I use the hot chocolate lites instead?

If anybody is looking for menu plans, cookbooks, or anything else, please let me know. We would be happy to sell at well before cost. I can sell cookbooks for $5 - and they retailed at Pure/LAWL for $39.95!

We have menu plans, diaries, maintain for life books, cookbooks - anything that was printed. We were left with a warehouse full of printed product.

I happened to stumble across this site today & found most of the posts to be really upsetting. As a former employee of the company I feel compelled to throw in my 2 cents.
First of all, Throughout the 2000+ posts, people constantly bashed Kelly C and a few attacked BD as well. KC & BD poured their heart & souls into that company. They spent more time at work then they did with their own families. I truly believe that both of them had the best interest of the clients & their employees in mind at all times. I can honestly say that they were the 2 best & most supportive Managers I have ever had. I know that all of you are upset over the loss of your jobs but did it ever occur to you that they lost theirs as well?
Second , all of the former employees were so quick to bash the program & sales goals. I know from experience that the program really worked. I saw many clients lose the weight & I personally lost 25 pounds doing the program myself. Weight effects so many aspects of a persons life including health, self-esteem, relationships, & emotional well being. You can’t put a price on that. The clients paid for the tools that would eventually lead them to happiness, including the support of the employees. If you feel as though you were forcing unnecessary sales then you really didn’t believe in what you were doing to begin with. In the great words of KC “Shame on you”.

I remember that they promised we would be getting something in and it would never come in. They would tell us that there were back orders to products saying the "supply and demand", but we all started to see what was going on.
Get all your product that you can. The end is near.

I was a client with pure weight loss from July 2007 until Jan. 2008 when they closed. I filed every claim that was offered. I paid for the program with my care credit card. I also filed a claim with them back in Feb. I paid $ 1,374.75 for a two year program. Today I got a letter from GE Money Bank informing me that as of May 20 I now have a credit on my account in the amount of $1,142.75. There is hope for all of you. Do not give up. If you paid for the program with a credit card then file your claim. I hope everyone will get something back from this company. Good Luck..

Hey i got a letter in the mail from the NYS AG and supposedly we'll be getting some money back! I know it won't be what is owed but at least it will be something!

I received one of those letters also. Fortunately I got all my money back from Care Credit after a lengthy ordeal. At least others will have a chance of recouping some of the money they are owed.

I worked with Joni and Kim in 2002 in Lancaster, PA. I have no idea what has happened to the company since I left the job and the country but I do know those two women were great back then. In fact i just wrote a blurb about their management style for one of my psychology courses. Not that anyone cares but I think very highly of them.
