To “Where are my confidential records” At my center they were just left behind .(I worked for LA Franchise, but was shut down the same time as Pure) Only current or 2007 files were boxed and sent in . I as a former manager was very concerned about this but all my regional wanted boxed and sent was current. I left 2 file cabinets full of client charts with very private info in them behind to probably be tossed into the trash by either the building manager or the next tennant. No one at the home office of the franchise I worked for seemed to care. As the manager I was very upset by this, but where could I store them , so they all sit there as I am sure is the case at most of the Pure Centers.

Hello!!!! December 12th??? what not even 3 weeks before some of these centers closed!!! I went to my center the other day just to check it out and they closed on December 28th. SOMEONE KNEW THE COMPANY WAS CLOSING WAYYYYYYYY BEFORE DECEMBER 12th!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hence the FRAUD....you freakin moron

Our center, here in the Chicago Market, happened to get them all boxed and dumped off at the UPS station. We boxed ALL of ours up. Let me assure you, too, it was done at our own goodwill.

There was no organization. I had no idea what was going on until the last day. We were supposed to have been sent boxes and such.. but I only received labels. I went and purchased boxes. There was a small group made up of former employee, myself and our children bundled them all and shipped them to Corporate.

Our biggest concern was that they would be left in our center for the “clean up” crews to go through. The clean up crews sent in my the leasing company.. not Pure.

I too have been shafted by Pure Weight Loss. They owe me over $1500. I submitted my refund application by Certified Mail. I’ve been tracking it since I mailed it. The post office left a notice and it was never picked up. I received a message today from the post office stating they had moved and left no forwarding address. So much for our refunds. Also, the end of November I was notified by my centers manager about a great opportunity. Pure Weight Loss was offering an add-on to current clients. 20 weeks worth of lites plus weeks added onto my program for $464. It seemed like a good deal, so I did it. How many other “sukers” did it? I now see that Pure Weight Loss just lined their pockets a little more before ditching us. I’ve written my attorney general’s office and I hope everyone affected by this does the same.

I too used to work there for about 2.5 years. I was a Manager for Columbus/ Cincinnati. I was there top manager for the time I worked there. I felt the constant pressure to sell, sell, sell. I also felt constantly guilty about all the refunds.

They did do nice things like fly us to Vegas for a yearly conference. But they did a lot of things that I couldn’t stomach. First, to be a company mainly employed by women, they had no compassion for working moms. Moms can’t work until 7-8 every night. Also, we couldn’t even go to the dr’s or take lunches because the centers were never staffed properly.

LA Weight Loss had such a poor reputation, so it is not surprising that they closed. But they did have a lot of revenue, so on that end I am surprised they closed.

I am so sorry to all the clients out there. Trust me when I say, the people who worked there were just trying to provide for their family, don’t blame them.

I am a former employee of LA Weight Loss in Jacksonville, FL. I am 100% not surprised that LA has closed their doors. Although I fully supported every single one of my clients, I never fully supported the business and moral ethics my “superiors” instilled. Everyday was “sell this, sell that, upsell this, upsell that”. Not once did any of the managers or owners show a sliver of genuine care for any of their clients. Many times I would do chart audits and find that clients were taking supplements that could interact negatively with certain medications they were taking.

No One, I repeat, no one knew until Decenber 12th....you can believe whatever you like, but you werent involved. He was doing all he could to save it- and just couldnt. Your efforts are in vain to try to prove otherwise. The fact that that was the day we were no longer able to sell just proves that NOBODY knew until December 12th. And, furthermore... no center closed on December 28th unless the "oh so caring" employee just didnt show up.

ummm there was a note on the door....and if you go back to the first page of this forum...someone's center closed on DECEMBER 8TH......you really just don't know how this stuff works do you? If the company was going under that badly there was No way to save it...and they were just milking customers till the last minute.

I sent my refund request via Certified Mail and when the mail went to the address nobody was available to sign. They left a note and till today the USPS has my petition. Is a lot of money what I should do and by the way they remove the phone # and the e-mail address from the website.
