I'm in buffalo...and i'm not an ex employee...but i've been in situations before where i couldn't get health insurance b/c of working part-time....I was able to get insurance through Healthy New York...I think it was about $150 a month through Independent health. You can also try to get Medicaid since you are unemployeed. Try calling all your local insurance company's and see if there is anything available to you at a decent price. You might only be able to get major medical...ie for hospitalization...but at least it would be something. Doesn't hurt to just call and get all of your options

I am concerned about people's personal info and let me tell you what happen in the Chicago Market.

In those final days, there was so much confusion. Some of us didn't even have email or CNET. Anyway, on the last day, we were told to box up all of the files. Mind you, we were to be off the clock by 2p.

Then we got a call that said... you have done all you can do.. just forget it.. send what you have via UPS and leave the others.

Well not knowing what to do, the ex-employees, myself and our kids got together and continued to box up over 30 boxes of files. I, personally, took 30 boxes via my truck to a UPS site.

Why? Well, knowing what we know now about the future bankruptcy, we were concerned about leaving personal info in the centers.

Leasing companies took over some of the centers already. They would send in their helpers to clean and such.. Way too much of our client's personals.

But now, I think that they will be safer at Corporate or some warehouse. They have millions of files and probably no organization. So no one will be able to find anything important anyway.

you were not told on the last day to box up charts. we were told the week before. And if boexes did not arrive at our center we should take the 35 float and go buy them. My center was boxed up and we took them to the UPs store in the plaza with no probelms. we have 50 boxes all pre-paid.

Nope.. didn't work that way with me... Oh.. they were prepaid and did go the last day and purchase boxes from my float... BUT THAT DAY I WAS TOLD

Bad news from Ohio. I just found out that Pure Weight Loss has filed Bankruptcy. I hope no one is looking for a refund. Sorry for everyones loss!

how do you know what EVERY center was told, you dont, you assumed. Communication at Pure/LA was the worst i had ever seen at a company. again, back to the departmental meeting being non-existant. communication was hardly used.....

I am assuming just like you about all other centers. You dont know who knew what when the company closed. I am just saying what I knew for my center for a fact.

As for files, I am a former client in FL. the manager of the last center to close was told on a Mon to close on Sat. She told me that my file was at a center that had the doors locked by the leasing company because the rent was not paid for 2-3 months. There are plenty of us out there that probably got screwed worse because we were never notified, not only because they did not give until Jan 4 but because nobody had our files. It sounds to me like fraud if you tell clients online the doors are closing Jan 4th and they were closed in early to middle Dec. I think I'm more upset now beause of my info being in who knows who's hands.

I really wish the same people would stop bickering back and forth or correcting spelling and give only info that is pertinent such as how to contact TV News shows such a 20/20, Dateline, etc. I'm getting tired of seeing 90 forum notices on my computer with nothing but mud slinging on each other. This forum is no longer the good wealth of info it started out to be.....too bad

I was a manager in Central PA and my supervisor stopped calling me right after the Dec. 12 notice. I found out from the person above her that I was to wait for the boxes. On the last day the boxes weren't there yet and I had clients until after 2:30. I was going to stay (alone) and box it all up but then the e-mail came about not being paid after 2 so I left. I had already put in 15-20 unpaid hours over those weeks and I couldn't do any more.

A frient of mine from Fed Ex told me that one of the warehouses refused to take the file boxes and they were returned to Fed Ex. After about a week of calls the warehouse finally agreed to take them. So, it sounds like all files will rot away in warehouses until someone destroys them. (or sells the info....they can't be trusted you know!!)

That must have been a really long commute every day from VA to Horsham PA! Terk, you have the right to say what you want, but if you want to be credible you should stick to what you know. VK spent most of the summers in Michigan, but for the rest of the year, he was around Corporate most of the time unless he was traveling for center visits, which was not that often.
And by the way, you specifically told Heartbroken: "you were not told on the last day to box up charts.", and then when Karma called you on it, you said "I am assuming just like you about all other centers". Go back and read your own posts. I suggest you try to keep your lies straight if you want anyone to believe them.
But wouldn't it be more productive, as a former employee who so loved her job and her clients, to try to actually HELP the clients that are on here looking for help? Yes, people like Karma and Heartbroken get their feathers all ruffled when they hear your nonsense, they try to defend themselves, and everyone gets off track. But at least they are trying to post valid and helpful information.

We had one employee left in each store and some of them (especially the last week) just went on ahead and pulled a no show ---so thats why the clients were surprised...had nothing to do with him closing any stores earlier than 1-4-08. Oh, and seriously can we stop with the spelling and grammar attacks we have all had our fair share(myself included) and actually Karma, you have as many as terk...chill babydoll.

Thanks for coming to my defense in regards to what I was and wasn't told. I think the problem was that I had NO communication to corporate either via CNET or via EMAIL. Probably the reason I was fortunate enough not to have received a bad check!! (Got friends in "high" places ya know :))

BOTTOM LINE... We can vent on here all day long, but we really should come together as one entire voice. If anyone has any great ideas on how to do that... bring it.

the accounts are FROZEN... if anything try going to the Bank it is drawn on and cash it there. that way you would know right away if the checks are good. depositing them could result in a returned check fee by your bank...

The company couldn't seem to get the bankers boxes to the centers in the three weeks that they knew we needed them. They didn't really care.
