Francine, Look at the nutrition panel from one of the ones on the list. Check the calories, fat content, and the sodium. Compare the levels with the ones in that grocery store. If they are close go for it! |

Hi. I just found this forum. I need help and I'm getting confused with all of this different entries. I did LA weight loss and only had 5 pounds to go when they closed. I, naturally, have gained a lot back. I don't have any bars so how do I do it? I was on the purple plan. I also thought you did the "take off" with cantaloupe, but I'm seeing you say orange. Help! I'm desperate. It is warm out this week and NOTHING fits now! I need to get back on track quick.

Sandy, I need to know your height and weight to be able to put you on a plan. You are absolutely right that it's possible to do the "take off" with cantaloupe. I find the oranges to be more effective so I only tell people to use the cantaloupe if the acidity of the oranges is too much for them. Welcome to the forum! Hang in and we'll help you reach your goal! |

razmataz in West Chester, Pennsylvania said: Sandy, Wow! Thanks for the quick response. I will try the oranges. I am starting tomorrow with the "take off". I am 5'6" and unfortunately weigh 180.......I was 150 3 months ago when I was only 5 lbs. to success. I have just eaten my way back up since I've no Lites or the Excel and the other pills for hunger. Can I be as successful without the bars and the pills? I see they are on Ebay? I've got to get this back off....no clothes cause I got rid of the "fat" clothes. I'd appreciate any help you can give! |

I just stumbled on this and feel so lucky. I am so excited at the possibility of getting back on track. This is the only diet I felt I was in control of my eating with and have been so lost. Where are you on the program? |

francine roper in Seattle, Washington 5 months ago |
Well I was a bad girl like you.I was also 5 pound from goal when I just gave up. Gained it all back and plus some. Now I am at 148 and going to make it to 130. I deeply want to go to 120, but when i was there my family told me I looked "hungry" so 130 is my goal and 120 is dream.I started back on the plan 1 month ago and I am now 12 pounds. Raz is a god sent and has been great through out as you can see |
|
sandy1 in Ft Mitchell, Kentucky 5 months ago |
Good for you! I would love to be 148 right now. I am very anxious to hear back from Raz. I hope she gets back with me tonight. Are you using the bars or any of the supplements? Keep on the diet....you know you can do it. |
|
francine roper in Seattle, Washington 5 months ago |
I have the bars, but I do not have enough to reach my goal so when I get to that point Raz is going to have to fix my plan again |

Sandy, You're actually pretty close to the "drop" point. For now, go onto the Red no lite plan. 2 1/2 protein
All the servings sizes are the same as the purple plan. When you get to 170 we'll be moving your plan. |
|
sandy1 in Ft Mitchell, Kentucky 5 months ago |
Ok, great. I have enough bars for a week, should I do them and get more or stick with no bars. I'm a chocoholic and looked for to them
|
|
sandy1 in Ft Mitchell, Kentucky 5 months ago |
Hey Raz, should I exercise? They had told me not too until I was close to my goal. |
|
sandy1 in Ft Mitchell, Kentucky 5 months ago |
One more question Raz...sorry! As I went back and read different postings I see that you included the bars on the Take off. Since I'm starting completey over should I do the unlimited protein and green veggies with the 4 oranges?? |
|
razmataz in West Chester, Pennsylvania 5 months ago |
Sandy, You need to decide if you're going to do a replacement for the bars or if you're going to do a "no lite" plan. The plan I gave you is too much food if you're going to usee bars. If you're using bars you should be on the purple plan. Exercise is a great way to speed your weight loss! The more calories you burn the better you will lose. Make sure to let me know if your exercise goes over 5 hours per week because if it does you will need a change in plan. Also, if you're doing a lot of weights you will see your weight loss slow but you will lose inches faster. The reason is that muscle weighs 2 times what fat weighs but only takes up 1/3 of the room! And, if you're just starting do the "Fast forward" which is unlimited proetin, unlimited green veggies with 4 oranges. Any more questions just let me know! |
|
sandy1 in Ft Mitchell, Kentucky 5 months ago |
I cannot thank you enough for this info. I am starting the "fast forward" tomorrow! You are such a God send. I feel now that I can get on track and get where I want to. Thanks you, thank you!!! Will I lose as quickly without bars and supplements? |
|
razmataz in West Chester, Pennsylvania 5 months ago |
It's very possible to lose quickly without the bars. (I know this is not what they told you) The bars do more for appeasing the wanting of sweets than they do for weight loss. However, if you want to use one of the various replacement bars the amount of protein the bar contains is really important. |

Catch is to find balance. Replace white sweets with organic and fruit. Healthy proteins with Omega acids (seafood), whole grains bread, lot of veggies, tofu, tofu, tofu. Lot of spices, no salt.
Hope this helps to you guys. |

Sandy, I don't know of any substitute. There are some on Ebay but who knows how long they will be available that way. With the products there is a number somewhere on the box. An example would be 285 7. That number would mean that the product in that box was manufactured on the 285th day of 2007. Generally the products are good for at least 6 months (some a little longer) after the date of manufacture unless the package is opened. The only thing that would safely extend this is if product was frozen. LA (to my knowledge) never froze their products. Hope this tid bit is helpful. |

Very helpful! you are just a wealth of knowledge! We are so lucky to have you to help us. What about my starch.......does it matter what time of day I eat them? Have a great night! |
|
razmataz in West Chester, Pennsylvania 5 months ago |
Sandy, Sorry I forgot the part about the starch. It's best to avoid starch right before you go to bed. I would try to get it in by late afternoon at the latest. It's ok for it to be later once in awhile...especially if you're using it to have a drink. :) |

Trisha, What kind of hours are you working? Regular or irregular? Long or short? The day you gave me was perfect if it's one of many. You're getting veriety right? And, you mentioned fibromyalgia flare up. Did the doctor put you on a steroid? Steroids do a great job with inflamation but unfortunately cause water retention. If so, try the hot lemon water...it's a good natural dieuretic...so is asparagus...and also cabbage. Let me know if this is helpful! |
|
razmataz in West Chester, Pennsylvania 5 months ago |
Maria, Sounds pretty good...just make sure those veggies are green ones! Also, about the coffee. You can have 2 cups if it has caffiene as much as you want if it's decaf. The splenda you want to try to keep at 3 or less packets per day. Hope this helps! |

Someone told me that there is a previous employee from la weight loss here if you can please contact me, I need help. The thing is that I'm reaching my weight goal, I'm in the gold plan, I don't have the stabilization or maintenance to continue the program. I was hoping that if anyone has it to please send me a copy my email is Dmora2010@yahoo.com I would really appreciated. The center in my area just closed without telling me anything no call no letter how dissapointing, I'm freaking out cause I don't want to continue losing weight, or gain any back. |

Hi Raz, 2 questions:
2. Can I use up all my bars on the purple and THEN do red with no bars? |
|
sandy1 in Ft Mitchell, Kentucky 5 months ago |
Does anyone know if I can eat the low sugar Quaker oatmeal as a starch if I make it with water? Would I eat one package if so?
|
|
razmataz in West Chester, Pennsylvania 5 months ago |
D Mora, Yes, you follow the stabilization for 6 weeks. Your weight during this phase may fluctuate up to 5 pounds in either direction. This is normal and nothing to worry about. As the stabilization guide suggests many people continue once in maint. to use the purple plan. If you would prefer to ease away from counting everything I can help with that...we'll start tackling that at week 5. Maintenence is a learning process but we can make it so that you can stay at your goal for life! |
|
razmataz in West Chester, Pennsylvania 5 months ago |
Sandy, 1. I don't know what to recommend as a replacement for xcel and reduce plus. I can tell you that xcel had guarana and green tea extract as main ingredients and that reduce plus' main ingredient was conjugated linoliac (sp?) acid or CLA. 2. It is perfectly fine to use all your bars then switch to red. That's the best way to do it. It's not good for the body to flip flop plans constantly so this is a great move! |
|
razmataz in West Chester, Pennsylvania 5 months ago |
To be totally honest, it's not the best. I'm a firm believer that there is nothing that's on a "forever forbidden list" but some things will slow the weight loss some and anytime we're adding extra sugar it will slow some. |
|
sandy1 in Ft Mitchell, Kentucky 5 months ago |
Thanks Raz. I only have enough bars for a week or 2........it will still be good to switch so soon? NO oatmeal for me! I'm having a tough time with starches. I don't like many of the choices. Any suggestions? Have a great night! |
|
razmataz in West Chester, Pennsylvania 5 months ago |
Sandy, That will be fine. As far as the starches, have you ever tried the "weight control" oatmeal. You can have that. Or, (I thought of this after I sent the other message) you can count that "low sugar" oatmeal as a fruit and a starch and that should make up for the added sugar. Just limit it to 3 times a week if you do that. |

Raz, I have been off the program since January, when Pure closed its doors. I havn't lost or gained any weight. I want to start the program again and would like your assistance. What plan should I go on? I am 5'2" 160# and my goal is 135-140#. I was on the gold plan and plateaued from Oct.-Jan. I walk 3 miles 2x/wk (1 hr = 3miles); and I do 1 hr water aerobics 2x week. Also, I assume I should 2-day cleanse again? I do not have the drink and saw I can eat oranges or canteloupe. Can I alternate btwn the two fruits each day? And is it true that the more greens and protein I eat, the more I will lose during this cleanse phase? Thanks |

Hi, does anyone know if there is an alternative to the LA cereal bars? Can we use regular cereal bars and if so, which ones are equivalent? They make a great breakfast.
|
|
razmataz in West Chester, Pennsylvania 5 months ago |
Gerbear, If you have lites the appropriate program would be the gold. If not, purple. Purple:
For the "fast forward" you can use one fruit one day and the other on the other day if you want. My personal opinion, the oranges by themselves are the most effective way to do it without the juice. As far as whether its true that the more you eat the more you lose I don't know if that's necessarily true. However, if you don't eat enough that is long enough for your body to kick into "starvation mode" and cause a gain as soon as you come off it so please do eat. |
|
razmataz in West Chester, Pennsylvania 5 months ago |
Trisha, If you were on the prednisone a couple of weeks ago and you've taken off the couple pounds you gained perhaps things will start up again. Just keep up with the variety. Try to get all your food in at least a couple hours before bed and use the hot lemon water as we've talked about. Also continue getting variety. If things don't start moving soon please let me know and also give me 3 days of your diary. We'll get it gone! |
