Hi, did anyone get my message??? Maybe it didn't go thru or maybe I'm just not patient enough. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has the recipe for the Cola Chicken from the LA Cookbook. Also, I was wondering if anyone has found a replacement for the LA Cereal Bars. Oh yeah, and I bought a couple of different protein bars to try them out, but I want to run them by you first to see what you think. One is Slim-Fast Optima bar (Strawberry Cheesecake flavor). 220 calories, 6g fat, 130mg sodium, 35g total carbs, 13g sugar, 2g fiber, and 8g protien. The other one is the Kashi Go Lean bar. 150 calories, 3g fat, 220mg sodium, 28g carbs, 6g fiber, 14g sugar, and 8g protein.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Okay Thanks Raz, I will see if I lose anything until Sunday and if not I will
send you 3 days of my Diary and go from
there. I also make sure all my food is in
by 5:30 pm and no later then 6:00 pm....

I am a little confused on the gold w lites
for the CARBO MEAL. It says count as a
2 oz protein and 1 starch.. but on the purple it counts as a protein only...
I am glad I caught that in my book..
Any also, on the cereals for a carbs meal
it says milk like the skim or 1% or plain??
So if I eat it with water instead of the
milk, do I still count it as 2oz of protein
and 1 starch ???? That is somewhat confusing

Tammy I just checked my LA CookBoo and I
see nothing under the chicken recipes for
Cola Chicken, I have the purple cookbook
that i just bought last November. is it in
that one or the other cook book? And just
for your information, they do sell these

Trisha,

A "Carb Craver meal" (I think that's what you mean) counts simply as 1 protein...nothing else. It does not (and I know this seems weird) count at all as a starch.

Remember if doing a carb craver to limit to no more than 2 per week and also remember to increase your water on those days to 10 glasses (8 ounces each)

Francine,

Between your work and your work outs you are not getting enough food. I wasn't aware that either was as much as you just told me. I want to move you to the red plan.

2 1/2 protein
4 vegetable
3 fruit
3 starch
1 dairy
1 fat

Also, it is imperitive that you get variety. When you eat the same food day in day out your body getts bored and your metabolism doesn't work as hard as it can. Try not to duplicate two days in a row if you can.

The lites count only as lites. The thing you are seeing being counted as a starch & a fruit are the cereal bars...totally different.

You need to either be on a lite plan or a no lite plan you can not flip back and forth it will kill the weight loss. Let me know if you need help.

Yes you can use the purple plan to check the servings sizes on red. Red and purple use the same sizes.

Raz, Am I reading the GOLD booklet wrong then? It says 1 protein and 1 starch...
Purple booklet says coutns as 1 protein...
Sure glad I asked you or I would of been doing that wrong..and yes I knew to only do
that only 2 times a week. And I don't even
do it that often, on occassion when I get
hungry for pizza....but it is nice we have

One more thing. I went shopping today and one of the things I bought was bagels. It is thomas plain minibagels. Each bagel weight 2oz or less so does that mean I can eat the whole bagel and count it as one starch?

Just a question for anyone who can answer. I know this is the Plans without the Lites group but has anyone here heard of anyone achieving equal amount of success using Luna Bars instead of LA Lite bars? Raz, do you know if it would make any difference?

I'm not sure if it will make much of a difference. The bars really mostly take care of cravings although the extra protein does support the weight loss very well. The Luna bars are pretty close but there's nothing that's exactly the same. (At least not to my knowledge)

Francine,

The Morton's lite salt does have some sodium...50%. If you want to use more than the 1/4 tsp. I would recommend getting the Morton's no salt has the potassium but not the sodium so I would recommend getting that.

Hi Raz, I am NOW LAUGHING AT MYSELF, hahaha the book does say
that, BUT it is for those who have a certain medical condition
I think diabetic they need to count it as one protein and one
starch,,,so yes it is only counted as one protein for the rest
of us......ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww I would have been missing that
pizza let me tell you !!!!!! I don't like to eat things that
take up to many of our food options....I like to stretch what
I am aloud as far as I can.. heheeheh !!!! thanks again Trisha

I really want to do the Take Off plan so that I can get back to losing the 10 pounds I have left to lose. I have the juice, but I can't remember what I need to eat to go with it. Is it unlimited proteins and unlimited green vegetables? I don't have any of the bars, but I do have the hot cocoa lites; can I use those?

Do the "Fast Forward". That would be unlimited protein, inlimited green vegetables. Mix the juice 50/50 with water. Drink the first half the first day and the other half the second. The fast forward does not use the bars.

Thanks so much. If I start out eating chicken, can I have only chicken as the protein for that day, or could I have steak? I just can't remember exactly how it works. Also, after the two days, should I go back on the gold plan which is what I was on when the centers closed. I'm 5'6" and weight 150. My goal weight is 140. As I said, I still have some of the coco that I can use once I finish the fast forward.

Yes you can have the chicken and steak in the same day. There are some who say to stick to one or the other but I have not seen any evidence that it really makes any difference.

And you go back on the gold until you are out of the hot cocoa. When you run out of the hot cocoa go to the purple plan without the lites.

It is Francine here your problem child. I stated the red plan on Friday and make some serious changes to my food. Nothing on my daily food diary repeats for 4 days. And I do have lites before i forget. Anyways thursday is my normal weigh in day, but I did it today and I am sad to say lost nothing. So I think it would be safe to say I do not think I will lose 2 pounds by thursday. Now I can tell you I am close to geting upset.I tried to think what I am doing differently from the first time I was on the plan and was loosing 3 pounds a week and I can tell you that the only differents is I workout about 6 hours or more a week back then. I will not do that again unless you tell me to.So are we going to stick to the red plan with lites or are we going to try something new

I know that plateaus are frustrating! But, you have to get it in your mind that you will keep at it until the plateau breaks because it will!

I'm a bit confused. Are you saying you're going to stop working out? If you do the red plan is no longer appropriate. You would have to go back to purple.

I'm going to try a plateau breaker with you. This is a bit difficult but only has to be done until the plateau breaks. For your proteins chicken or fish and for your fruit citrus. Everywhere else the variety is still important. Try to get the starches and fruit in before 5 PM. Give it a few days then weigh in again.

Also, are you weighing and measuring portions?

Trisha, Are you working out? If you're adding muscle that would be an easy explanation for why you're losing inches but not weight. Muscle does weigh more than fat, but it takes up less than half the room.

Barb, A drop is the term for when you should change plans. If you tell me your height, weight, and what plan you were on I can give you the appropriate plan without the lites and also tell you when you should "drop" to the next plan. Hope this helps!

Can you help me determine what plan I should be on. I started LAWL last year at this time and I dropped 17 pounds by August and I was on the Gold Plan. In August during my weight loss, LAWL apparently came out with new portion sizes etc and changed my portions and types of foods I ate. I went from 3 fruits to 2 and protein was 2 to 2 1/2 but bigger portions... I am all confused. Needless to say, I am going back on the plan. I ordered a whole bunch of LA Lites and I have them ready to go. I am 5'5" and 176 pounds. What plan should I be following and at what weight do I go to a "drop plan"? Please help. I am very confused. Need to know plans, and portions. Thank you soooo much.

I have been reading your answers and you seem to know how to do things such as what plan and how to move from one to another. I use to be on La Weightloss untill all the centers in Maine closed. I am 4'11 and 245lbs they started me on Red Plus because i do not use the bars. how long do i do this and when do I change coplors also i only have the red plus card....I got to this forum using a serch engine and am not sure if I know where I am however, I am at a point where I need to take off this weight for health reasons. HELP Please Email me or help me find my way back to this board.

Go onto the gold plan. Do you still have the book? I want you to follow it exact in the gold book if you have it.

2 lites

If you don't have the book let me know and I'll try to help you with portions. You do not change plans until you get to about 139.

I have no intention of stopping my workouts. I guess this plateau thing is geting to me. I just wanted to know if we were staying with the same plan or going to something new. From what i got from you. You want my proteins to be fish or chicken and only use oranges as my fruit correct

I don't recall how much was in the Reduce Plus. I would suggest following the directions on the label.

The Carb Enders had white kidney bean extract in it.

You got that perfect! You can do the takeoff every 2 weeks and you have the right portions. Remember on takeoff that whatever protein you pick you need to stay with the whole day.

I got it. I will start the plateau breaker today. I will weight myself in one week or 5 days to let you know how things are going.And do not worry you will not loose me in this battle. Nothing will stop me of my goal of being able to look at myself in the mirrow naked and want myself. This body will give me what I want whether it wants to or not.

Will the Luna bars slow down the weight loss? I'm on purple. I'm out of bars and bought 2 of the Luna bars. They aren't bad, but I notice the sodium is quite a bit higher. Would I better to go without the bars? I need chocolate and crunchy, but I'm trying to lose, lose!!
