Ive been on LA since I as long as I can remember. I started the first time back in 99', lost alot of weight and gained it back over the course of a couple years. i rejoined back in 2003 and actually started sticking to the plan in 2005. Over the course of 8 months in 2005 I went from over 200lbs down to 140. I guess i should mention i am 5'6. I kept most of it off and have gone back to the plan to make sure it comes off again using the take off juice (you can find online) and luna bars. I agree with raz when she says the bars keep you on plan....they really really do. I decided to reply to Tammy on her question of the take off becuase I have tried doing it more than 2 days before. Taking it more than 2 days doesn't work in my experience. By the 3rd day I have found that doing take off just isn't enough for your body and you end up feeling latargic and hungry the whole time. Your body i think goes into starvation mode at that point and you end up losing nothing. I guess they say 2 days for a reason! |

Thanks, I'm so glad I asked first. I guess that makes since. I am like you. I started the plan, lost 50 lbs and then went on a junk food frenzy and am currently trying to get back on track. Good luck to both of us!!!! |

Francine, You don't have to specifically stop the work outs for the Take Off but be aware with big activity like that you may find yourself battling hunger. If you find that a problem increase the protein 2 oz. |
|
razmataz in West Chester, Pennsylvania 7 months ago |
Trisha, Let's try a plateau breaker. For the next week for your proteins do either chicken or fish and for your fruit have citrus. Do for a week then you can go back to regular plan. Let me know how it works! |
|
razmataz in West Chester, Pennsylvania 7 months ago |
Jaka, That's great advice! Thanks! |
|
razmataz in West Chester, Pennsylvania 7 months ago |
Tammy, Jaka is right on the money with this one! Take off and Fast Forward both are only 2 days...no more. |
|
razmataz in West Chester, Pennsylvania 7 months ago |
Maggy, No juice while nursing. The Fast Forward doesn't give enough variety and the Take Off doesn't give enough calories. |

To everyone buying juice on Ebay, etc... I just wanted to mention that the juice has a shelf life of 6 months unopened. The way you tell when the juice "expires" is by a number code on the bottle. The code has 5 digits (7 0247) this example would have been made the 247th day of 2007. Given this you can tell when the juice was made and thus tell when it expires. Also, I can't remember for sure whether the year was in front or at the end (it vaired based upon the product) but if you look at it you'll be able to figure it out with this knowledge. |

anointedone, Get creative with your exchanges and condiments. For example, get chocolate fat free cool whip and put between graham crackers then freeze. It makes a decadent dessert. Use the light chocolate syrup over some strawberries. Eat a vanilla yogurt with an orange...tastes like a cream sickle. |

hi raz this is anointedone thank you for all your help now the crackers together is one or two starches and how much can i have it sound good i will try it thank you god bless anointedone |

anointedone, Take one sheet and break in half to use as top & bottom. Then the "ice cream" sandwich is 1 starch and 1 condiment |

What about salad, just straight lettuce...no carrots that is. Is that sort of all we want to eat? I do like salad everyday after my meals. I do not load it up with the trimmings if you know what I mean. I just like an enormous bowl of Romaine or field greens. I often use soy sauce, low salt. I do not ever add additional salt to my food or in cooking. I use alot of herbs instead. Also, I make my own yogurt with 2% milk, but I have used fat free milk and the yogurt comes out just as good. Absolutely no sugar added. I use fruit as the sweetener just before I serve. I do not like the store bought yogurt at all! It really is nasty with all the sweeteners they use. Why bother if they are going to keep us addicted to sugar? A very good old book to pick up is "Sugar Blues", came out in the 70's I think. This will give you a hint as to why sugar is so addicting. I use ALOT of recipies from Vegetarian Times magazine. I use to be a strict vegetarian. When I went through my menopause, I added fish and chicken (only) to my diet. Boy did I pack the pounds then!!! Hence this fabulous diet I am part of. Good luck to EVERYONE! God bless you Raz for all you are doing for us! Let me know about the salad. |

ashestoroses, The Pure Weight Loss (LA Weightloss) books said that a serving of lettuce was 3 cups. My personal opinion is that you can not eat too much green vegetables. The other vegetables are pretty forgiving also but the green are really forgiving. If you want more green veggies go for it! |

How do you count the following items?
Also, you'll get better results from the Fast Forward if you do it only 2 days but exact...next time wait until you have 2 days you can devote to it...you'll get better results in the long run |

trisha1960 in Lebanon, Pennsylvania 7 months ago |
Raz, Are those the only two things I should eat for one week fish or chicken and citrus
|
|
razmataz in West Chester, Pennsylvania 7 months ago |
Trisha, The other exchanges you can have any choice but for your proteins choose a fish or have chicken and for your fruit have citrus. You can have any veggies you want, starch, etc. |

hi raz this is anointedone,
thank you and god bless ps thank you, once again anointedone123 |

razmataz in West Chester, Pennsylvania 7 months ago |
anointedone123, If you want you can have 3 pancakes (not huge) and do it as a carb craver meal. If you do this it's counted as a protein. You need also to increase your water to 10 glasses the day of the carb craver. |
|
razmataz in West Chester, Pennsylvania 7 months ago |
anointedone123, Sorry I forgot to add that cream of wheat...1/2 cup cooked count it as one starch |

THANK YOU SO MUCH AGAIN ANOINTEDONE123

|
razmataz in West Chester, Pennsylvania 7 months ago |
ANOINTEDONE123, A carb craver meal helps with those cravings for carbohydrates. Do you have a book? They're in the book and can be used up to twice a week...there are too many for me to remember them all. Another "carb craver" is 2 slices of plain pizza! |

Hi Raz! What about sugar free ice cream? Is that a no-no? Thanks! |
|
razmataz in West Chester, Pennsylvania 7 months ago |
twinzmom1229, Get the "fat free no sugar added" ice cream (it's quite good). You can have 1/2 Cup...it's a starch. |

razmataz in West Chester, Pennsylvania said: ashestoroses, Thank you, Raz! Great to know i can eat all the salad I want! I'm making my own yogurt as we speak so I am not worried about any added sugar or fat. I only use fresh fruit in my yogurt which is add after I make a batch. You can also use the siet chocolate syrup if you like your yogurt sweet and chocolat-ie! Thanks again! |

Hi Raz, First, you are awesome! I was on LA weight loss in 2006 and very close to my goal. I have read all of the information posted here so I think I know what to do I just want to make sure I start off on the right plan. I also need to know when if I should ever drop to another plan. #1 - I'm a woman and I weigh 176lbs and am 5'3".
When I first joined LA in 2006 I weighed 169 and they had me on the Gold Plan. Which is the right plan for me? Purple? And when should I drop to a new plan? |
|
Neysam11 in Pompton Lakes, New Jersey 7 months ago |
I forgot to mention that I'm 31 years old. |
|
razmataz in West Chester, Pennsylvania 7 months ago |
Neysam11, You will be on the purple plan and there are no drops after purple. 2 protein
|
|
razmataz in West Chester, Pennsylvania 7 months ago |
Neysam11, You will be on the purple plan and there are no drops after purple. 2 protein
If you still have your gold book the proteins are 2 oz. bigger on purple and the other serving sizes remain the same. |

Hi Raz, So I had problems bringing my weight down consistently last week so I heard of someone else on the numbered plan who was told to take out a starch and a fat from their daily servings. Can you advise what you would have a client do in this case? Gold Plan with Lites: 2 Proteins (6oz?)
Free to Live #2 Plan with Lites: 2 1/2 Proteins (4oz cooked, 5oz raw)
So since I have taken out a Fat and a Starch and it's been working better than before. But my counsellor was advising me that I might not be getting enough calories in then and the weight loss might be reflecting that. Wanted to ask for your advice. I still think I'm getting enough food in because I don't feel hungry and the numbered plan has more food than the coloured plan. I lost on average 3 lbs a week on the coloured plan three years ago. On the numbered plan, I've only lost a maximum of 7 lbs in 5 weeks. Mind you I was 20lbs less when I started this time. What do you think? |

Raz I forgot to tell you I'm 5'' feet tall. My wieght as of now is probably 178. I don't work out right now.
|
|
razmataz in West Chester, Pennsylvania 7 months ago |
dodis, I honestly do not know what to tell you. I am not a dietician. I am simply someone who has been trained ion how to figure out which of the color plans is appropriate. I am not at all familiar with the numbered plans. I don't know what to tell you... |
|
razmataz in West Chester, Pennsylvania 7 months ago |
need2losew8, Go onto the Red plan until you get to 170. Red (no lites)
4 vegetables
Let me know how things go. |

Thanks Raz,

|
razmataz in West Chester, Pennsylvania 7 months ago |
need2losew8, You can certainly do a Fast Forward if you'd like. It's a good detox and helps your body get ready for weight loss. Do for 2 days... Unlimited protein
You can use oil or butter. No starch and no starchy vegetables |
|
dodis in Toronto, Ontario 7 months ago |
That's okay Raz. Don't worry about it. You're a great help to us all, glad you're on here! |

Tammy Steward in Fort Worth, Texas 7 months ago |
Hi Raz, Tammy here. I need a reminder of when to change plans. I think I am getting close. I am 5'9, 198lbs, and I am on the purple plan with lites. I need to know when I should switch to the gold plan with lites. My goal is about 140. Thanks! |
|
razmataz in West Chester, Pennsylvania 7 months ago |
Tammy, You're right about at the drop point. Here's what I want you to do... If you're still losing well (at least 2 pounds a week) stay on purple a bit longer. If your weight loss has begun to slow change to gold. Gold 2 protein (2 ounces smaller than purple)
Let me know how it goes! And congratulations to being another step closer to goal! |
|
Tammy Steward in Fort Worth, Texas 7 months ago |
Thanks! I will keep an eye on it. Still loosing so far. |
