Hi, just to let you know, I have been using the Luna bars and the Pria bars. The LA bars had 8g protein. The Luna bars have 10g protien and the Pria bars only have 5g protein. So, I eat 1 Pria bar and 1 Luna bar a day and that seems to balance out the protein. It is working for me so far. Hope this helps!

I like Tammy's idea of doing a Luna bar and a Pria bar each day. It's up to you what you want to do. There is no exact replacement. If you want a plan without the bars I can help you with that.

I was told of a plateau breaker: change your exercise program!!!! Yes, trick your body out of the routine you are in! Got it from my doctor! I am 5'2" and weigh 173.....I lost 23 lbs about 9 mos. ago, but GAINED the 23 back plus an additional 7 lbs just from sitting home depressed - got laid off from my job. You have nothing to loose by trying diffrent methods. I hope this helps. I know reading your Forum has motivated me into doing something with this weight gain as I feel physically terrible, especially with the breathing! I have ALWAYS weighed 108 and 112, BUT, I have a very small frame. So, you can imagine how this tremendous weight gain - and I packed it on in 15 years, I discovered food and it just crept up on me. No excuse for being unhealthy, I know, and that is foremost on my mind over "looks". I hope I can be a contributor in some way to this group because I need some female motivation in the months to come. I never was a member of any weight loss program, only exercised, so I am not familiar with the LA program, but I will get up to date and try to be a contributer. RAZ, you are a great motivator!

I joined LA Weight Loss in August 2007 and a week later they changed their name to Pure Weight Loss. They ended up closing in January 2008 and left me hanging not knowing what to do. I've lost 90lbs in 35 weeks and I'm currently on the Red Plan. I would really like to know when I should drop down to the next plan and I would also like to know what the maintenance guide is. I'd appreciate it if I could get some information about how to proceed.

Ok, Raz i think i am ready to start this again. I also think I am on what you call red 1 ...What are the books everyone is talking about? My plan is a card it said REDPLUS at the top. Should i do this one? Should I do fast forward or take off or both...I am 35 I am currently 245lbs and my height is 4'11"...My teenage daughter (15) would like to try tis too she is 4'10" and weight is between 168and 175lbs depending. we will not be using the lites. How do you count Sugar free chocolate syrup. what about atkins syrup no carbs or sugar just flavor of chocolate.
I guess these are my only questions. Thanks.

Do the "Fast Forward". That would be unlimited protein, inlimited green vegetables. Mix the juice 50/50 with water. Drink the first half the first day and the other half the second. The fast forward does not use the bars.

Do you have any suggestions about eating the Carb Craver meals? I enjoyed eating one once a week and I had the Carb Craver pill (I can't remember what it was called). But since I don't have those anymore, can I not eat the Carb Craver meals anymore?

May I join your Forum? I need help losing weight. I have never been on a diet before, but I find I absolutely NEED one now. I have read through your comments...everyone of them...and I believe this is the motivation and support I need to get me through this. Roz, I am 5'2" tall (? or short) and I weigh-in at 173 pounds. The ideal weight I am shooting for is 125 pounds. Can you help me by telling me how to get started? Can I do the one with the oranges for 2 days and then on to which color? I only eat fish and chicken, always Tofu, lots of veggies of course. Thank you, Roz... and the best of luck to everyone here getting healthy!!

Raz, I'm 5'4", 51 years old and started off weighing 300lbs and as of today(4-18-08) I've lost 91 lbs. My goal is to get to 150. Right now I walk 5 days a week for 20 minutes and I jump on my mini trampoline 6 days a week for 20 minutes. I also go to Curves and work out for 30 minutes 3x a week. I've been averaging around 2.7 lbs a week. One of the counselors at Pure Weight Loss told me to measure exactly my fruits, starches, dairy and fat and not to measure the veggies or the protein. When I started doing that I started losing the 2.7 lbs a week and I've been doing that since October. I joined another health club that will be opening on May 1st and I plan to work out there 3 or 4 times a week also. As I said I'm on the Red Plan with 2 Luna bars a day because when they closed they still owed me 10 weeks of lites. I found that the Luna bars are the closest to the LA lites. It's just frustrating because I don't know when I should be droping to a new plan. Anyway I'd appreciate it if you could help me.

With all the exercise you are telling me your doing you will need to stay with the red plan for the remainder of your program. Keep doing things as you have been as long as you're losing so well. I normally tell people that everything except vegetables has to be strict measurement but we will not mess with it right now because it is working.

I'm going to put you on the purple plan unless you want to do bars...if so I will have to change it.

Do the fast forward...unlimited protein and unlimited green vegetables, 4 oranges.
Do this 2 days then start the purple plan

Purple:
2 protein (8 oz for lean choices, 6 oz for not as lean choices)
4 vegetables
3 fruit
2 starch
1 dairy
1 fat

I'm a bit confused...you have the juice? If so there is only 1 juice (called Fast Forward) and it is used for both the Fast Forward and the Take Off phases. Does this answer your question?

Sorry I think I read your posts backwards in my email. Do a Fast Forward. If you have the juice mix it 50/50 with water. Do unlimited protein and unlimited green vegetables. Do for 2 days then go back on your plan. You can do it this way once a month. Let me know if this helps.

You can still do carb craver meals once or twice a week even without the carb ender pills. Make sure you drink a full 10 glasses of water the day you do the carb craver meal...this is key!

Francine here your problem child. I had a holly Sh*t moment today. I thought corn was a vegetable and today when I was looking it up in the book to get the right measurement I found it in the stach part. Holly crap.So it seems for a couple days I was eating 7 servings of starch. HA HA HA HA HA. You think that could be why I was not loosing weight. HA HA HA. Just passing it on incase anyone else is doing this

Yes you can use the red plus card to get started...the books everyone are talking about replaced the cards.

Have your daughter follow the red plus also. She would have been on orange but that is one I don't have exactly memorized but know it's pretty close to red plus. Let me know how this works for both of you.

Could you please give me 3 days from your food diary? Purple without lites and gold with lites are equal plans. If you're not losing on the gold with lites you'll have problems on the purple without lites...there has to be another reason. I will help you figure it out and fix it.

You can have 2 cups of coffee if it has caffiene and unlimited if it is decaf. The diet soda is a limit of 12 oz. For best effect you should limit yourself to either the coffee or the soda, not both.

Also, remember to get in all of your water. The water is key!

Hi Raz! Yes, I have got that. Purple Plan no lites, sounds good to me. Can I do the Fastforward (I call it Oranges) once a month? I am only walking 3 days a week only 1 mile each walk because I am carrying too much weight and I am having difficulty breathing. My Dr. checked it out and said yes, it is the extra weight I am carrying, as my tests came back "normal". She said she is comparing it to all of my past tests and befor, during, and now at this weight gain. She likes the diet, as I ran it by her, and she thinks it is a sensible way to loose weight along with the walks. She also said the our Forum sounds very motivational and supportive! Isn't that great! Raz, you should go into business for yourself! Thank you for much for the diet advice. I will be reading the posts and keeping up with my end. Blessings, Ashes

I thought about going into business but that's not really where my heart is. My heart is with the individuals I work with on a daily basis that suffer from severe mental illness. Many of my clients are also homeless. I'm taking part in a walk at the end of next month to raise money for NAMI which is an organization that provides a lot of help to these individuals. Hi Raz, Okay here is 3 days of menues that you asked for

Breakfast 4/14/08
orange
3/4 c Kashi Good Friends Cereal w water

snack- apple

Lunch- 1/2 c 1% cottage cheese
1/2 cup canned fruit packed in water

snack- 1 c grapes
1 lite bar

Dinner- 5% cooked chicken tenders
1 cup cooked broccoli
1 tsp butter
1/2 lenders bagel w 1 TB s.f. jam

snack- 1 serving yogurt non fat
1 lite bar

Day 2
Breakfast- apple
3/4 c Fiber One w water
snack- 1 Kiwi fruit
Lunch- 6 oz can tuna in water low sodium
1 c celery
2 Tb F.F. Italian Dressing
snack- 2 pcs. string cheese
Dinner-5 oz. cooked chicken tenders
1 cup sugar snap peas
1 tsp butter
1 tb ketchup
snack- 1 bag LA cheese curls

Day 3
Breakfast- Apple
3/4 C Puffed wheat w 1 C skim milk
Snack- orange
Lunch- 2 eggs w green peppers and onions
1 TB Ketchup
1 oz light american cheese
snack- orange

I also drink approximately 5 to 7 16.9 oz
bottles of water a day. So I know I am getting plenty of water. I have not been
exercising because of my back and leg pain.

Hi Raz,

I was hoping you could help answer a couple of questions I've been pondering about. A month ago, I restarted the LA weight loss plan now named free to live (number 2). Two years ago I was on the gold plan with lites but was also 20 lbs heavier when I started then than now. I lost about 3 lbs a week on the gold plan and it seems I'm only losing a bit over a lb a week on the new plan (free to live 2). In your experience have you found vast differences between the two plans i.e. one working better than the other? Or do you think it's outside factors playing into my slower rate of loss? I appreciate your help.

HI Razmataz,

i am really happy i found a place where i can get help loosing weight. i just had my second baby 4 month ago, and my oldest is now 19 month old. i did LA weight loss 4 years ago loss 20 and fell off. I'm 30 years old 5'7 and i weight 240lbs i want to go down to 165. i started going to the gym 3 to 4 days a week
i do 15 minutes cardio 10 minutes weights and 5 to 10 minutes in the sauna. I'm also PARTIALLY BREASTFEEDING baby, I'm weaning her right now so she doesn't breastfeeding everyday sometime only at night.

please tell me what i need to do. i don't have the juice or the lites (i can get them if you think its better to)

will i need to change plan once i completely stop breastfeeding or not.

Raz, The medication that I take is Darvocet as needed, Synthroid
and the only other medication that would be new since I started
LAWL is Ultram ER for the Fibromyalgia....What do you think..

Whether you want to do the lites is a personal decision. I think that they help keep you on plan because they take care of the sweet cravings but it's a personal decison.

If you're not doing the lites start with the Red 1 plan until you're completely done with nursing.

Red 1
Protein 2 1/2 (lean choices like chicken 8 ounces, less lean choices 6 ounces)
Vegetables 4
Fruit 4
Starch 3
Dairy 2
Fat 1
