I just called Care Credit. They told me to keep paying, but are sending me a disput form to fill out. It will take 10 days to get to me, then fill it out and mail it back. Then it will take 90 days for Care Credit to "decide" what they'll do. I might get a partial refund or they might put my payments on hold until they figure things out. Regardless, it will take forever. Thoughts from anyone else? |

I think you might want to call an attorney for legal advice, b/c why should you have to pay for the service if the co. is bankrupt!?!? But on the other hand you don't wanna ruin your credit! So - either an atty, or the PA atty general may help. The PA atty general website link is here: www.attorneygeneral.gov/complaints.aspx?id=458
They have been VERY helpful and communicative so far. I live in NJ but b/c the co. is (was) in PA they instructed me to file in PA. & they instructed me to fill out the Health Care Complaint form. They are most interested in the folks who signed up most recently. I signed up April of 06, and was almost done with 10-12 weeks or so to go. But those who signed up or bought more crap when the company knew they it was in trouble - Pure will have to answer for them. And those are the clients the AG is after. Info for the complaint
they are in Montgomery County PA GOOD LUCK BEST OF LUCK BARB ! |

I recieved this from the atty general in Ohio: I wish to inform you that Pure Wght Loss have filed Chapter 7 Bankruptcy. This matter is now in the hands of the bankruptcy court and the Attorney General does not have the authority to intervene. I suggest you contact the federal district court in which the bankruptcy was filed to find out if you can file a proof of claim form. The address is as follows: U.S. Bankruptcy Court
I encourage everyone to write to the US Bankruptcy Court. Barb |
