I rcvd a letter from Care Credit telling me they canceled all but $300 of my owed money to them. I had written a letter telling them what I was willing to pay for and what I wanted canceled. Anyone else get their debt canceled? What about those who paid in advance? |

I am one who paid the card off and Care Credit was giving me a hard time. I mailed the dispute form to Care Credit with my correspondence from the Attorney General's Office so they would had to address the issue.I paid for part of the purchase on my VISA and I had those charges reversed with no problem. I am glad someone had some good luck with Care Credit- at least there is hope. |

I was told today that my dispute was denied because my charge on my carecredit is over a year old by two weeks. I still had a year and half on my program. I am going to my sheriff's office and seeing about putting a warrant out for the owner of Pure weight loss for theft by deception. I will see how that goes. |

Care Credit Refund Success Story!!!!! I purchased lites and services from Pure Weight Loss in October 2007. I paid off the account the first week of December. Then Pure Weight Loss went under. When I contacted Care Credit I was initially told that I could not dispute the charges because I paid the balance off, even though I had contacted them within the initial 60 day window that is recommended to ensure my billing rights. After filing complaints with the the NYS and PA AG offices they both recommended disputing the charges in writing to Care Credit and indicate the reason why I was delayed in doing so. At the end of February I sent Care Credit the dispute form, along with a letter indicating the reason for the delay and copies of all correspondence that I sent and received from the New York and Pennsylvania Attorney General offices. Care Credit sent a letter back in the beginning of March stating they were investigating the matter. Well..... today I called Care Credit to follow up and I was told they issued a REFUND CHECK FOR THE ENTIRE AMOUNT I WAS OWED AND IT WAS MAILED YESTERDAY!!! So.... even though you may think it is to late still dispute your charges!!! And send in any related paperwork. If I had not enclosed copies of the correspondence with the two AG offices I may not have gotten the money refunded. |

Can you tell me what you provided to the 2 AG offices in terms of paperwork I spent about $1500 restarting my plan and purchasing lites so I do not have a contract document to prove that. I have the paper work that I submitted to LAWL given to me by my local center.

Ann Q in Rochester, New York I filed complaints with both AG offices. I copied the letters I received from them along with my original letter I sent to each office. I then wrote Care Credit a letter stating the course of action I attempted with their company- including the dates I contacted them and that I was informed each time that I could not dispute the charges because the account was paid off. The AG office's letters stated to still dispute the charges even if it was after the usual 60 day grace period and to indicate why there was a delay. I had also filed a complaint with the FTC regarding PWL and also included a copy of that correspondence as well. The more documentation you can send them the better. I really believe that the AG letters were key it getting Care Credit to deal with me.
To get the addresses you can access this on the websites for the PA and NYS AG offices. I also filed a proof of claim with the Bankruptcy court in PA. You can get all that information and print out the form from that website as well. Do not give up. Care Credit told me I could not dispute the charges but when I did and included all this paperwork the charge was reversed. Do not wait until you receive correspondence back from the AG offices. I would go ahead and dispute the charge sending the credit card company a copy of the letters you sent to the two AG offices. This should get the process started. Let me know if you need any other assistance. |
