HI it is very late at the moment , but have been ready all the posts here on LA, and so informative.. I went to LAWL in 2004, it had just opened up, I got in on a very cheap price, I did not do any of the products, I just wanted to learn how to eat to lose wieght. I went from 171 pounds to 127 in five months..27 1/2 inches over all, 10 1/2 was just my waist. I could not believe how the pounds just come off, as I was eating and making good choices, I love this program, I have learned how to eat and keep it off. I gave myself a five pound lead way,my goal ended up to the 130 pound, either I go down 5, no more, or up 5 pounds, then I know I better watch my choices. It is ashame that LA closed up here also this past year, I did get all my money back. I loved the program, not a diet, a new way of life. I was on the purple plan the whole time. I still once in awhile like to journal my daily food, it makes me accountable for my eating, and makes me think about my foods, vitamines, excerise, water, and important BM's. I just wanted to post here and will love to keep reading posts, anything new to me I will try it. I am doing a take off now just to change my metabolism, I am like 5 pounds over my weight, so time for change. SORRY so long, but just had to get this out... I LOVE THE LAWL, and want to THANK them for all thier support.

grandmaDeb - I've been on the LAWL program for 3 weeks now. I lost 7 pounds in week 1, 2.5 pounds in week two and .8 pounds in week 3. Is this a normal or "good" rate for losing weight on this program? I just need to make sure that I'm doing the right stuff. Thanks!

That is good! Keep it up! Normally people can lose anywhere from 1 - 3 lbs a week.

Hi Jackie , I lost the first month 15.8 pounds. I lost about 2 pounds after that. some more some less. all depends... but I started in Jan. of 04, and in June or JUly, lost 41 pounds...I was losing so good the first month that they said I could eat bananas', :), that is a fruit that they said they rather me wait to eat, but sence I was doing so good, they said go ahead it would be ok So I just counted it in my journal. But seems your matabolism is doing good. Your body seems to be working with what your doing, it may slow up some towards the end, it takes forever to lose that last 10 pounds.. but it is so worth it.. I was on the purple plan the whole time.. I also did the step tape they gave me, it was a 20 minute work out, I loved it... then I started doing Lesli Sampson in home walking tape, and did bands with it, and also dumb bells...they say when the inches start to go then you know then your losing wieght. Are you still going to an LA or is it online... my sister in law lives in Calif. spent allot of money to get started , lost about 40 pounds, and they closed without any notice,, sad, she lost her money and very dissappointed... discouraged also... but Keep up the good work, just think this thought, "Nothing taste as good as thin feels". That is what a co-worker told me when I started LA... :)

Jackie, grandmaDeb again, keep up the good work, just remember to eat all your meals, it is very important to drink all your water, add you fat in as they say, your small amout of salt they recomment, that is the postassum they say that is so important. I ate three main meals. and my snacks in between, my husband could believe that I actually was eating, and losing at he same time..sometimes I didn't want to get it all in that day, felt like I was going to gain going in the next morning to weight in, and when I did go in, I lost... after all the years, I am thankful for going, it just made me accountable for me, it taught me how to make choices, and I still to this day have people say, I wouldn't want to be on your diet, and this is when I choose not to eat cake, or cookie, donuts, what ever , I just say, Im not on a diet, just rather not eat it.. I got tired of making up excuses of why I didn't eat the way I used to, so now I just smile, say I am full, thank you... :). I do have 8 grandkids, one on the way, I have my treats with them just have to limit them, don't go over board. HOw much weight do you have to lose? I am 5ft. 4 in. weighed 171.6, after take off I then started at 167.6, goal weight 130. Went to 127, then settled at 130. I am comfortable at that weight. Clothes size went from going into a size 16, went to a size 4,6 and 8. All depends what it is. THis is a life change, and a good one... Sorry for going on and on, but think this is such a good life plan...

hey everyone,

after being on LAWL for a year a losing a lot of weight, i did become lax and i gained about 25 pounds back after 3 years. i have tried body for life and the south beach but i am drawn back to LAWL. i find it to be the easiest program to follow and best suits my life style.

i am currently waiting on my take off drinks from ebay and i am soooo excited to drop these 25-30 pounds.

one question, i started on red with lites and then dropped to purple with lites. i am currently 240 and 6'1" and i want to be 215 again. i want to know if i should start on the red or red 1. i might use lites but im not sure yet. please let me know.

Hello all, I'm new here and have some questions. I have been reading the old posts but there's a lot to sort through, so I apologize if I'm repeating a question here.

I'm 5'6" and weight 180. When I originally joined LA Weight Loss back in October of 2006, I was put on the gold plan. When they changed the way they do things I was switched to the purple plan based off my height and weight, but never made it back in after I was given the "express plan." So, basically, I don't know what to eat and when to drop down and when to do that. I LOVED the original gold plan, even though I was hungry all the time :) I lost a ton of weight but had trouble keeping it off...never quite made it maintenance :( Please help!!\

Just stumbled across this site today and wanted to let you all know that I have found a product that compares to what I used to do with LA weight loss. I believe in it so much that I am now doing business with them. LAWL was the only thing that worked for me before and after the birth of my daughter. Please check out my website at arizzo1.ghealthbeauty.com. It is called Trim Body System Weight Loss Kit. And it includes everything. You can email me through the site if you have any questions. Please check it out you will love it.

raz has posted these plans in earlier posts. i believe you should be on the red+ plan. if you use the plan without lites then you should go up one plan. so if you were on gold with lites go to purple, purple with lites then you need to go to red. red goes up to red+.

if you dont have bars and want to get some, get some that at close to the lites as possible. 180 cal, 7-8g fat, 25 carbs, 8g protein. give or take. i like the fiberone bars but they have a lot of fiber and make me use the bathroom often. so if you dont mind that try them. i have also used the luna bars, and the zone bars. but try to use ones cloest to the spec above. there is a lot on this topic above.

my sister is 35 yr old and she is 5'8" 190 lbs. she is on the purple plan and is using fiberone bars. she is down 5 lbs over the past week.

i have found if i eat 5 meals a day and one snack at night i do well.

breakfast (6am): yogurt, 1/2 banana or orange
meal 2 (9am): fiberone bar, apple
lunch (12pm): spinach salad w/chicken breast strips, lite red wine dressing, sprinkle of feta cheese.
meal 4 (3pm): fiberone bar, fruit
dinner (6-7pm): fish, small potato, spagetti squash baked with salt/pepper/garlic powder/olive oil. mmmmmmmmmmm tasty!
snack(9pm): sugar free jello with a spoonful of coolwhip!!!!

and of course 8-10 cups of water.

i can get the urge to lose weight everyday i look in the mirror but the thing that motivates me is when im driving and i hit a bump and my man boobs jiggle! that is it for me. i want them GONE. that little thing is what i focus on everyday that i dont feel i can do it. and then i remember i did it once and it was so much harder then.

A word to the wise. If you are doing the 2 day takeoff plan, go to any Walgreens, Rite-Aid, Walmart, CVS, Kinney Drug, etc. and purchase the Hollywood Diet Juice. It's the same exact juice as the Take Off Juice from LAWL, plus it's a little cheaper too. Don't waste your money on ebay. As for the LAWL bars (if you're doing the bars), I purchased them on ebay and freezed them. I'll be starting back on LAWL come 1/2/10. Good Luck Guys.

Hello everyone I have a question. I went on the latoyourdoor website to see how this new La weight loss works. It showed me the plan I would be on (plan 2) if I was to start the program again. The problem I have is that the plan does not watch any color code I have. And they did not give the oz for the protein. According to the plan 2 I would have 2 1/2 P, 3V, 2F, 3S, 2D,2F and 2 lites. does anyone know what color plan that would be.

Hello,

Can someone please help??

I was on the Yellow Plan for a year before my wedding, I lost over 50 pounds! I was very excited!! Now, I have been married for 3 years and have gained 30 pounds! =( I find myself wanting to come back but all the LAWL centers are gone.

I'm 5'1 about 170 pounds. I have an office job...8AM - 6PM. I get about an hour workout three to four days a week.

I was on the Gold plan w/ lites. What plan do you suggest w/o lites?

Thanks!

you should move up to the purple plan w/o lites. that is 2 proteins, 4 veggies, 3 fruits, 2 starches, 1 dairy, 1 fat.

im on the purple plan now with lites. and i forgot how small the portions are especially when you weight them out. lol but with that said i got used to it after three or four days. i find it hard to not weight myself everyday. i am trying to do it once a week.

one question????? if i eat a carb craver meal (pizza) and i still have my 2 starches left, do i need to eat them also? a carb craver meal is inplace of 1 protein.

As a result I have gained back 25 of those pounds. When I lost the weight I discarded my plan books. I am now 148 pounds 5'2" and would like to get back 125 lbs. I am taking CLA in place of Reduce Plus and I am still looking for something to take the place of excel. These worked well for me. I have seen that many of you are using Luna bars and pria bars to replace the lites. I see everyone mentioning the protein in these bars, but isn't the fiber content important too?

Hey there guys. It's so nice to find this site. I have a small issue though. I was on La Weight loss in 2006 and they put me on the purple plan. Then I had surgery, came back and they put me on the red plan. Then I had a baby and they gave me the LA Express and the free to live plans. so I went on ebay and looked at the menu plans and they don't look the same as what I have. so I'm not sure what I should do. I am 5'3", 225lbs and 41 years old. I have been using my red book but I'm not sure it is the right thing for me. Can any of you help me out? I would really appreciate it. thank you.

I was on la weight loss in 2006 and lost 57 lbs. They started me on the purple book with la lites. When I reached 187 lbs. they moved me down to the gold book with la lites. I want to start this diet again because it did work for me. As of today, I weigh 215 lbs and I am 5'5'. I am just starting to exercise again because I am horribly out of shape. My question is what color book should I start with? And what is the breakdown of the daily servings on the purple, red, gold, blue and maintenance phases. I don't have my purple book anymore and I was wondering where a could get a copy of these menu plan kits.

I was on the gold plan a few years ago and gained some weight, so I am back on it. I'm substituting the lites with Aldi's Fit and Active protein energy bars. They have 200 calories, 7g fat, 21g carb, 15g protein - very similar to the LA lites. The carmel nut flavor is great.

I want to know how do you know what calorie amount goes with each plan? In 2007 I started on the Puple plan with lites. I have gained weight since now I am 205lbs and I need to lose the weight. Have started keeping track of what I eat on a daily basis with CaloriCount.com...but LA Weightloss really helped. Which LA Weightloss plan should I start on? Do I have to start with the Take-off Juice/ Hollywood 24hour and onlu raw greens and proteins diet before I start the plan?

Ok, you need to make a decision with regards to the lites...you either use them or you don't. Sorry to be so blunt but that may be why you're stuck on a plateau.

If you're planning on using the lites, try switching to the purple plan.

Purple:
2 protein (2 oz bigger than on blue)
4 vegetables
3 fruit
2 starch
1 dairy
1 fat
2 lites

If you're going to go it without the lites, go to the red no lite plan.

Red/No lite
2 1/2 protein (2 oz bigger than blue)
4 vegetables
3 fruit
3 starch
1 dairy
1 fat

If you decide to do a "no lite" plan for now, you can incorporate 1 lite a day once you get to maintenence. It's up to you. It's just that during the weightloss everything is carefully balanced. If you get too much, you won't lose. But ironically, if you don't get enough, you still won't lose.

If you want to "jump start" things you can do a take off. (2 days)

6 oz lean protein
2 servings of green vegetables
2 lites
4 oranges

divide this up over the day

I usually suggest:

Breakfast: 1/2 lite, orange
snack: 1/2 lite
Lunch: 3 oz lean protein, 1 serving vegetable, orange
snack: 1/2 lite, orange
dinner:3 oz lean protein, 1 serving vegetable, orange
snack: 1/2 lite

Let me know if you need any more help!

Am a vegetarian on the plan. For the quick start do I just use the vegetarian proteins listed in the purple book? Is the purple plan still for me after all these years? I am 5'6" 37 and weigh 170 wanting to get down to 140. Suggestions? Anyone?

Also, to see how everyone is so supportive of each other is awesome. After reading through, I noticed that there were not any questions from folks wanting to lose as much as I need to, so I am hoping for advice/support. My weight is somewhere around 460, and I am 5'7". My work is administrative, so almost no exercise. Frankly at this point, it's becoming difficult to even walk very far. I tried this plan years ago, and began loosing, but like so many others, my location closed and I became frustrated and gave up. At this point, I don't even have a way to weigh myself, but I know it's becoming worse. I am putting together a plan based on all of the wonderful information here, but am asking for everyone's advice and support. Thank you all.

Raz! I hoping you can help remind me which plan I need to be on... I reached my goal weight in 2009 at 126 then gained 15 pounds back in a year that I've been trying to get rid of ever since. Weight Watcher is just not working for me :(

Hey everyone I read all the comments. I also was a member of LAWL in 2005 and my location closed before I finshed losing all the weight. I want to start again. I do remember I was on the gold plan but I cant not find my books anymore. Yes I do remember 3 fruits,3 veggie, 2 starches, 2 protein and etc. Does anyone know where I could get a book with how much I need to eat. Thank you

I am LAWL with a friend. I'm not sure which plan I should be using. I am 37 yrs, 267 lbs and 5'7. I do not like the lite bars and would rather not use any.
