Heidi-

Since you said you worked for both corporate and franchise LA, do you think the franchises will eventually feel the heat for everything that has happened?

What do you assume might happen to the franchises?

Will LA be disappearing soon nationwide?

karen2112 in philadelphia, Pennsylvania said: So what if she did or if she didnt-sounds to me that you are just trying to scrape at anything you can. Look who is calling the kettle black---give me a break. Why would anyone from accounting even be considered to attend a conference-YOU WERE ACCOUNTING-

Give me a break. The only reason that there was a conference was to blow money. Do you really think that ANYTHING that we did in Vegas was worthwhile? NO! Besides late night rendezvous anyway. That was just a way to waste money. Accounting shouldn't have been there you are right. They had real work to do!

I found some more resources that can be used to possibly bring down the good old ceo and draw some more attention to this.
Hey if someone from the accounting dept wants to give up some information, the IRS will listen....

EMPLOYEE TURNOVER - the ratio of the number of workers that had to be replaced in a given time period to the average number of workers.

www.missouribusiness.net/cq/2002/reducing_employee_turnover.asp

1. First, hire the right people and continue to develop their careers.
2. Second, most companies with low turnover rates are very employee oriented. - FAIL
3. Third, develop an overall strategic compensation package. - FAIL

If your company follows these steps and shows a genuine concern for the well being of your employees, you may not have to pay the highest wages n town to have the lowest employee turnover rate.

What was our Turnover rate??? 60-70%. If i worked in HR i would want to improve those FAILING numbers. The HR department/ Hiring Department and CEO Failed!!

www.businessknowhow.com/manage/turnover.htm

Keep an eye on your managerial style

Let’s face it. Many people flee their jobs because of the boss man (or woman). The reasons are varied but include:

-Negative or disrespectful words, attitude or actions
-Employee favoritism/inequities
-Unreasonable workload or overtime demands
-Rigid rules with no room for flexibility
-Devaluing/disinterest in employees ideas or suggestions
-Lack of communication with regard to goals, procedural changes, and company rules (“But Mr. Smith, the last time you said to do it this way. Now I’ll have to do the whole project over again.”)
-Lack of praise for a job well done

SOUNDS LIKE LA/PURE/RAIN!! GREAT JOB RUINING THE COMPANY!!!

I said that before!! the Attorney General Number is listed here, just in case:

Pennsylvania residents can file a complaint by calling 1-877-888-4877 or going to "health care complaints" at www.attorneygeneral.gov. Customers from other states can call 1-717-705-6938 and should also call the Attorney General's Office in their home state, Frederiksen said.

BBB website

Additional File Information
A company spokesman has informed the Bureau that all corporately owned locations will close effective 1/4/2008. All locations currently have reduced hours of operation. On the east coast, centers are generally open Mondays from 9 am to 1 pm, Wednesdays from 3 pm to 7 pm and Saturdays from 8 am to 12 pm. Larger centers also have Friday hours. Consumers may pick up refund applications and LA Lites orders at any location. Consumers who need additional information may call customer service at 877-524-3571 or email custservice@pureweightloss.com.

The Bureau is unable to process complaints once a company goes out of business; therefore, consumers are urged to file complaints with their state or with the Pennsylvania state Attorney General.

Please check back with us for further updates.

I did a training in Vegas on when and how to fire people...it costs 6 times as much to hire a new person than to keep an existing one. With that said...trainers would do training after training on employee retention. But with the old saying floating around, "You're only as good as your last week's #s", no one really listened. When I had the chance to run markets and be paid directly by the franchise owners, I saw it very differently. We had a low turnover and people loved their jobs. It wasn't fear beased. No one thougth thier pink slip was being faxed. No one cringed when the one's and fives were called in. In fact, people called me, or their direct supervisor before the ones to stratagize or to just get remotivated. No one at LA corp. said.. "Hey, you're awesome...I believe in you. What's up?" They would say..."Get them up now!"
So, I agree with you!You can't lead a team with fear.

WOW.. every morning I log into my email (because I am too busy to stay up all night.. kids, too)
But oh my gosh guys... CHILL OUT! We all know that deep down inside, this company was RUINED from the top down. Upper management had know idea how to make individual centers work and it is obvious that the tactics weren't working. Whether it was "bad hires" or stupid pressuring tactics...

Here is the difference... we, lower management, were thinking of customers and employees on the front lines and upper management... Well they were thinking about $$$$$$ despite employees or customers.. .HENCE, the demise of the company.

Now, I was okay thinking that Vahan and upper mgt. just made some bad judgement calls, but I am ticked thinking that they did the same thing with Quick Weight Loss and now LAWL.. screwing customers!!!

Any input on this...

Im not on either side what happens there does not affect me or my life, I worked there for 6 years and enjoyed it and most the people I worked for, but did not base my life around a company or any company. They do not define me or my worth I do and if they go under there are other jobs and opportunities out there for anyone willing to look and do what is needed to suceed. I am not saying job retention isnt a good thing, I am not saying all peoples morals are the same and ethics are either. I am saying business is business, you have to move on look for better and brighter things. Sh## happens life happens you can either whine about what coulda been or how poorly you all think you were treated and be vindictive (Posting personal info) and spiteful or be constructive and move on to other opportunities and what is out there. WOW Really Good versus Evil Are you guys serious with this,

1. posting people's personal info (whether it is public info or not) is just not right no matter how you look at it. These people worked for a corporation, no matter your personal opinion of that person, they were just employees and did what they were paid too. There personal ethics or your view of them is irrelivant and is nothing less than vindicious and childish to post someones home address on a forum discussing business practices. I dont see how this would be relevant or constructive.

2. good vs evil really??? A corporation is going out of business, there not trying to steal your babies or homes. They are shutting thier doors and moving on for whatever reason. Just because they employed you for awhile what is it they owe you. Are they responsible to keep you employed when the company goes under. You may not like how they operated you may not like how they are closing up, but it is a privatley owned company and the owner does think it is profitable enough to keep open any longer. If it was Im sure he would. Some of you are really dilusional on what people owe you. It was a business nothing personal.
