the center here in philly already has a lease sign up. that was quick. they were probably owed tons of money. they were behind on the lease payments i heard. that is tons of money right there.

I would love to see the look on Vahans face right now knowing he destroyed this business. it was all his fault and the crappy people he had working as upper management.

I worked for the company for almost four years and I grew to love my job, my clients , and my co-workers, very much. Eventhough what has happened is very unfortunate I am still happy for the friendships that I gained and for all of the clients that I helped to become successful on the program and that is where my blessings will come from. I to was upset and angry at first however vengance is not mines it's the Lords and If you all let go and let God he will bless you. And for those of you whose checks have bounced I truly hope that there is something that you will be able to do to recieve your money. In the Chicago Market it started out very strong and when it was good it was good and inspite of what the upper management would call us and say or request we do we always worked as a team and worked where as we all were happy and satisfied as well as our clients. That is why the success rate at our center was so high. She no matter who you work for and no matter what kind of principles and morals they have you have to do what you feel is right by your clients and co-workers because you will be held accountable. So I can rest easy and knowing that at are center we were the bomb and we saw weight loss and prosperity when it was good and our clients loved and respected us for it!!!!

Its liabilities at 10 Million to 50 Million..... where was all the money going??? he (vahan) was such a BAD business person and who was overseeing the finances? WHAT A JOKE!!!!!!!!!

The liabilities are in the OZ accounts. The clients paid for the Lites and have not yet received them all, hence the liability. The company owes them the Lites. With bankruptcy protection they will most likely not have to repay the clients for the Lites, though they will have to pay some of the vendor liabilities (light, heat, electric, loans/credit, etc...)

There are no more Pure Weight Loss centers open. There are Franchise LA Weight Loss centers only. The 2 companies have been separate entities since October of 2004, so LAWL is not responsible for Pure's liabilities.

You're right - it is misleading. There were a few franchise owners that stayed with the Corporate side of the company when the company split in '04 - it was because the franchise owners are Vahan's family. So they ran their businesses according to Pure's policies, and followed with the name change from LA Weight Loss to Pure Weight Loss. Yet they do remain independently owned, so they are probably not affected by the bankruptcy.

I was an employee, I left a week before everyone found out the company was closing. I know everyone is upset, i was upset...I left because I wanted to pursue a business adventure with my husband. I am an educated in the medical field...(RN) I believed in making money...everyone should understand if this was their own company they would push profit as well. I understand it was about integrity and honesty, but it starts with the employee contact to the customer. Some of the sales tactics were bs, I agree, but if you didn't like it...leave, find another job and move on...thats what i did. It is truly not the owners fault, he was running a huge operation and he lets everyone below run with his money. He can't be the eyes and ears for all of his 5000+ employees. People are to sue happy these days, everyone deserves their refund for product and weeks that were not used...get it and move on. If you are thinking ya right or scam...look at jenny craig...high sodium pre-package foods, weight watchers...lets spend our lives counting points (but eat whatever)I don't think so...There is no correct way,it is truly portion control.
Look, I am no way on one side or another...but look at your situation...you put the food in your mouth, you made yourself obese...don't be upset. Get your money...dollar for dollar...and take control of your life, your refrig. and your bad habbits and change. Change for whatever reason gives you that motivation AND MOVE ON!

I think VK had this whole thing planned. VK and his daddy Alex are very smart men. This has been planned for a while. Why do you think the split happened from LA-Pure? Think about it.VK made changes to the centers that he knew would reduce business. I think he was tired of running it and ready to start something new(rain skin). He was making 32 million yrly salary. Do you think it really mattered to him if it continued to do well? You can't file for bankrupcy if your business is not failing. So they made it fail. Think about it really! I've know all about VK and his family long before LA even changed there name from quick weight loss to LA. The first split in the mid 80's.

Lots of people want to get info on continuing. Are you another loyal clone? The company stinks. The program was good, a long time ago. I KNOW. I was there when it was good. Rochester was one of the new markets coming in after Pennsylvania. I was there in 1998. It WAS a good company then. It went downhill after 2002. And anyone that knows what I'm talking about, Lt was only off by 2 months when she predicted the demise of LA/Pure. Greed.

The theft I reported, don't get me stared. When LT left, I lost that position. They said there were no more travelers. OK! I went downhill from there on. Sticking up for people didn't do anybody any good.
