We have menu plans, diaries, maintain for life books, cookbooks - anything that was printed. We were left with a warehouse full of printed product.

I happened to stumble across this site today & found most of the posts to be really upsetting. As a former employee of the company I feel compelled to throw in my 2 cents.
First of all, Throughout the 2000+ posts, people constantly bashed Kelly C and a few attacked BD as well. KC & BD poured their heart & souls into that company. They spent more time at work then they did with their own families. I truly believe that both of them had the best interest of the clients & their employees in mind at all times. I can honestly say that they were the 2 best & most supportive Managers I have ever had. I know that all of you are upset over the loss of your jobs but did it ever occur to you that they lost theirs as well?
Second , all of the former employees were so quick to bash the program & sales goals. I know from experience that the program really worked. I saw many clients lose the weight & I personally lost 25 pounds doing the program myself. Weight effects so many aspects of a persons life including health, self-esteem, relationships, & emotional well being. You can’t put a price on that. The clients paid for the tools that would eventually lead them to happiness, including the support of the employees. If you feel as though you were forcing unnecessary sales then you really didn’t believe in what you were doing to begin with. In the great words of KC “Shame on you”.

I remember that they promised we would be getting something in and it would never come in. They would tell us that there were back orders to products saying the "supply and demand", but we all started to see what was going on.
Get all your product that you can. The end is near.

I was a client with pure weight loss from July 2007 until Jan. 2008 when they closed. I filed every claim that was offered. I paid for the program with my care credit card. I also filed a claim with them back in Feb. I paid $ 1,374.75 for a two year program. Today I got a letter from GE Money Bank informing me that as of May 20 I now have a credit on my account in the amount of $1,142.75. There is hope for all of you. Do not give up. If you paid for the program with a credit card then file your claim. I hope everyone will get something back from this company. Good Luck..

Hey i got a letter in the mail from the NYS AG and supposedly we'll be getting some money back! I know it won't be what is owed but at least it will be something!

I received one of those letters also. Fortunately I got all my money back from Care Credit after a lengthy ordeal. At least others will have a chance of recouping some of the money they are owed.

I worked with Joni and Kim in 2002 in Lancaster, PA. I have no idea what has happened to the company since I left the job and the country but I do know those two women were great back then. In fact i just wrote a blurb about their management style for one of my psychology courses. Not that anyone cares but I think very highly of them.

[Hi, I live in New York and have not heard a word. I am at the point where I just figure I lost my money and will never see it. I "just" joined a new place called Diet Center. It was out of desperation because going to Weight Watchers just didn't work for me. There is not enough structure and I needed one on one like we had at LA. I think Diet Center is very close to the way we ate on LA and I am not eating or taking any of their supplements. Its all real food that I pick from different categories. I have three fats, three starches, three fruits, three vegetables and 9 ounces of protein a day. I am even allowed to eat my Edy's lite frozen yogurt every day among other things. if I want and I can have peanut, cashew or almond butters just like we could on LA. They personalize every plan to the person. So for someone like myself with tons of food allergies it works out great. I lost 5 pounds my first week and two pounds this past week. The inches are coming off just as they did on the LA Plan. Unfortunately those of you who live in upstate New YOrk - I don't think they have a location there. You can look them up through Google i.e. Diet Center. They have locations in Ridgefield and Greenwich Connecticut. Anyway just thought I would let all of you guys know about it. I really love it, I am not having any cravings nor am I hungry. For those of you who can't seem to find their way since LA closed this may work out for you as it has for me. Its first time that I have lost any weight since LA closed for I am hoping to get it all off this time.

Just wanted to come on and say I got my money back through the NYSAG. I got almost every penny back!!! I was pleasently surprised as I figured with so many people having claims i'd be lucky to get $100 back.

Yes, but I didn't lose as much as the rest of you probably did because I couldn't eat any of the bars or other products due to allergies. I just lost about 16 weeks. I pretty much figured that I was never going to see the money. I just hope the people who had a lot of money invested into the program get it back. Has anyone heard anything about that con artist? He deserves to be in jail. They took advantage of the consumers knowing that any week he was going to close his doors!!

There is a company who bought the rights to LA called" LA to your Door". They have a website and some where on the website there is a chart with hight, weight and gender. If you look at that it will tell you which plan of theirs you can go on. They have Plan names on the site. It also lets you look at the plan i.e. number of proteins, veggies, starch etc. per day. They also sell all the LA weight loss products including the bars. I have the booklet for that plan and also the booklet for the Pure Weight Loss plan. You can try to figure it all out yourself if you have been on the plan before though the LA Weight Loss Plan is a little different then Pures. I like Pure's better as it allows you larger portions and more to choose from. Go over to the site and see what plan they suggest you go on. I believe they may even list number of calories of each plan. If they don't then I can definitely tell you that they used to have it on there. They have changed the site a bit since I was on it months ago. Hope you can figure something out by looking at it. By the way, I don't eat any of their products and never did due to allergies. Pure added an additional starch and and addition fruit to make up the difference. Hope this helps
