I was employed by Qualxserv for 2 years. I just lost my job with them TODAY for questionable reasons. I questioned them about a restructuring of territories and how it would affect me. They didn't like it and fired me on the spot. I had several customers already scheduled for service. I had to call the customers and tell them what happened. I also gave them some incentive to complain like crazy to Dell for this and to Qualxserv.

I worked for Qualxserv for 3 months in Indianapolis, hired in part time which assured me of 3-7 sites a day. I quit last month after only having 2 weeks worth of work in a 3 month period, and one of those was training. This is after 2 full time IBM techs were retired by Qualxserv before they wanted to be. Where did the work go. I wished I would not of worked for them, because i could of contract out with other companies that actually had work.

Can you file for unemployment? I was able to and am receiving it for now. Look at the other posters for Qualxserv. There are several other postings in different categories.

I've been working for Qualxserv for 2months as a partime employee, I can't believe I made it this far. I bet people Fliping burgers make more money then what I'm making. |

HAHA that's funny, i just quit with the a couple of weeks ago, at $36 a call it seemed like a bargain, but after 2 hour calls and having job that required 1 commute each way it really didn't make sense, on top of a jacked drop location that lost parts daily. Not being re-reimbursed for some stuff does s u c k |

Has anyone else noticed how they keep us from knowing how to talk to each other? We need to network a bit. I think I know a couple ways to reach more screwed-over QXSers. I have a new yahoo mail addy (self protection - I don't trust the company anymore) at the_surrealestate_agent@yahoo.com |

YOU SEE THERE IS NOT A SINGLE TECH IN MY AREA THAT MAKES LESS THAN 24 CALLS PER WEEK .I'VE COMPLETED 12 CALLS IN A SINGLE DAY,AND BEEN HOME BY 5:45.THERE ARE OTHER TECHS IN OTHER AREAS THAT DONT EVEN REACH 17 CALLS PER WEEK,BUT THATS BECAUSE QUALXSERV CALCULATES THE AMOUNT OF TIME YOU TAKE TO COMPLETE ONE CALL AND AGREE THAT AT THE END OF THE WEEK THEY CANT GIVE YOU MORE THAN 30 HOURS.THOSE TECHS TAKE ABOUT 2 HOURS TO DO ONE CALL SO DIVE THAT INTO 30 AND YOU GET 15.IN OUR AREA REGARDLESS OF THE PART BEING REPLACED WE ONLY TAKE AN AVERAGE OF 10 TO 40 MINUTES SINCE WE LEAVE ONE PLACE TO THE NEXT AND COMPLETE THE CALL.I'M NOT THE BEST TECH BUT I'M QUICK EVEN THOUGH I TAKE IT EASY.IF YOU LIVE ON A TOWN OF 10000 PEOPLE WELL THINK OF THE AMOUNT OF COMPUTERS THEY HAVE AND OTHER BRANDS OUT THERE IT DOESN'T TAKE A GENIUS TO FIGURE OUT THAT YOU WON'T HAVE TO MUCH WORK.I DON'T LIKE TO SERVICE HOMES SO I FOCUS ON BUSINESSES. |

Update: My DTS finally called me back after four days of trying and threatened to find a new tech to take the few calls I've been left with because of my not wanting to run one call with a 100 mile round trip. My ROS called me and I explained how I can't run only one call with a 100 mile round trip (only 15 miles are covered) because I net 10 bucks for half a day's work. She sounded like she understood and promised to redivide the calls so I could get enough to make the trips worthwile. We'll see how it works out. I also found out that the new tech who's gotten 70% of my former calls has already turned down calls; he won't last. I turned down my first call on Monday. I also have interviews this week so it may not matter. |

DO NOT TRUST ANYTHING YOU HEAR FROM THIS COMPANY

It's official. They lied to me again. When my DTS finally called me back about the 70% reduction in calls with close to the same mileage I asked her about the company's plans to add yet another tech to an already tapped out area and she said they weren't adding any more. There was a mess at DHL because another new tech started yesterday and he took some wrong parts. Michelle Marte lied to me. |

Well I worked for them for 7 months and got fired just like you.I was getting $38 per call and was doing 26 to 38 calls per week in a 12 mile radius. But I think that in my area we are getting screwed do to the fact that we not only work 40 hours per week but do close to 60 and that is not a part time job. Maybe we can help each other in building something against them. |

I LOVE QualxServ, eh? Not so arrogant are we? Um, even the mighty shall fall boy. Gotta say it was refreshing to see you strut your stuff, thinking you had some kind of winner deal there. It doesn't feel so good being cut, does it? You should apologize for your condescending attitude. Let's see it. |

Refreshing in a, dumb kind a way! LoL. Now you want all of us to join you in building a case against your former Employers? Gawd, gotta love the switch-er-roo you play. You are funny! |

I still haven't been cut but I am now refusing calls so it will be soon. Michelle Marte and Rebecca Serano are lying to me about our call volume by saying that all the boxes I see the other tech pick up and drop off must be for the Enterprise Division. Like I can't figure out what our area's volume really is; we pick up and drop off our parts at about the same time so I see what the other tech is carrying and the DHL counter people are good conversationalists. The really sad part is that I loved this job, was willing to run the 100 mile round trip calls when I had enough volume to make it worthwhile, and my Dell stack ratings are way higher than our area's average. (We just had to listen in on some conference call about ratings; I'm in the upper 30s and my area's average is 30 so New Guy has to be in the lower 20s.) New Guy, if you're reading this and figure out who I am, contact me as soon as they start screwing you too. I'll still have the same cell phone number because they never got one of those company phones for me. Maybe they brought you in and cut my volume to save on the phone, who knows? |

Update: Today when I was on a job site in "my territory" New Guy showed up to fix another computer at the same location. My bucket was empty except for that one call. I haven't been fired yet but it has to be coming. Now the confusing part is that my Dell Stack Rating is still at 36 and I have been there three or four times as long. Weird company; I don't know how they stay in business. |

I'm currently looking @ a position with this company, and it seems highly unlikely to be making more than the min. wage if you do get the privelage of working for them, where you would have to drive 30 miles to pick up parts, all in the 35ish mi radius they stated, and then maybe 60 miles to do a job. with the gas prices as they are, and all this bs being in the your radius you wouldn't be reimbursed @ all for this, yet you would spend most of your day travelling from 1 site to the next, barely covering your expenses for gas and time. While the job might well be worth it if you lived in a big city such as LA, it is looking suspiciously like in the area that I would work, if i so chose, I would be lucky to get 2-3 calls a day, which would likely be 20-30 miles apart, and not counting the 30 mi. I would have to travel to get the parts and the 30 Mi back to my central location. My calculations that I ran were @ $25mi/gal dirving expense, $0.05/mile wear on personal vehicle for maintainence and such, as well as the time i'm spending driving to these sites, and 0 hours spent @ customer site, barely making min wage @ $38/call. From what i've been gathering in past few days since being made an offer from this company, it seems suspiciously as though they're out to screw their employees, with their 30/30 rule, which seems to me to be solely for the purpose of keeping their part timers just that, with no benefits whatsoever. I'm really having difficulty seeing as how this will be worthwhile. Doh yeah, I haven't even gotten to figuring this in to the cost of my phone bill, or the rate increase that I'll get from my insurance when they find out that i'm using my vehicle for work purposes, if they don't just drop me. |

As you may or may not have guessed, i'm a bit disgusted that this company would even be making an offer fer such a pos. in my area, as what first cl ued me in to what might happen was the person I first talked to @ the cmpany, who sounded embaras sed and mumbled something about trying to make it bet ter when mentioning the gas comp. which was be4 I realized that there would be an additional 60 mi. round trip un comp n sated just 2 get parts & bak to work area |

i was a employee of dantech, a sub company of qualxserv here in the virgina area, and i started working as a on call tech for them back in july of last year, now over the year of me working i did what i was supposed to do and never had a bad complaint from any customer, back on july 25, i got a call from qualxserv telling me that they where turning off my bucket cause qualxserv/dell went back and did another background check on all there employees, and i was told by them that i had to be let go cause of something i did 7yrs ago, now what i did was not a violent crime, but still 7 years is a long time ago and i thought it was in the past, especailly when they hired me, i thought they had did all that when they first hired me, and what i dont understand is why after working for them for a year did they let me go like that, i was told by my boss for the company i was contracted through that some other tech in another state with a serious record assulted a customer which prompted better background checks, who knows, all i know is 5 other tech's in my area lost there jobs because of qualxserv's/dell's sudden changing of the background check policy, my question is who knows what the actual background chek time period is for companies like this |
