Been, with the Company a little over 7 months now, per-call rate is $32.00 (for a 1 hour service call and this includes travel time) as a part-time employee with No Benefits (H, D, ED etc) that the full-time employee receives, payroll taxes are deducted by the company. Work on average 30 plus hours a week including travel, appointment setting, and closing of the WOâs not counting weekends servicing after completion. The maximum calls a part-time employee will be assigned is 30, I service on average 22 calls per week. Reimbursable expenses; mileage at $.37 per mile, beyond 35 miles in one direction, which is a joke because it doesnât take into account the return mileage, other items include toner for printing, paper and metered parking. I donât submit an expense report to the company, because itâs a paper chase and waste of my time, but I do track it and back it out of my income taxes at the end of the year. Example a service call location that is 50 miles from my DHL pick-up point is a 100 mile round-trip, Qualxserv pays the first 15 miles beyond the first 35 miles; simple math will tell you that Qualxserv will pay you (15 miles times $.37) = $5.55 in gas money to service this call and at the current price of gas and MPG I get, I lose $.65 cent in gas money and I eat the total return travel time and gas. Now the service call rate of $32.00 is divided by 3 hours (total travel and service time), so my time was worth $10.66 per hour from the base of rate of $32.00. |

Now if you live in a large metro area as I do, 15 miles in city traffic could take up to 30 minutes of travel time in rush hour. Um-reimbursable expenses: Gas, Cell and home phone, electricity, fair ware and tear on my computer and vehicle, increases in my vehicle insurance to meet their standard policy to protect company assets (Dell) and other expenses as they occur, such as meals. You will be told, that after 6 months you can apply for jobâs within the company (full-time), the problem here is you will not have access to the web-portal job data base after you have been with the company for more than 6 months, so if effect you are closed out from applying within the company? Dell pays Qualxserv $135.00 for a 3 ½ service call via the contractual agreement between the two companies, I wonât tell you how I know this, itâs up to you to do the same research I did to learn more about Qualxserv. If you have read my first paragraph, you as the tech only get paid for 1 hour including travel-time. The DTS gets paid $14.50 as a full-time employee assigning WOâs within the given district/area. The DTS has until 8:30am to assign calls to the field techs at your local time. Now, once you assigned a DHL pick-up point/location, once you arrive at this location, your vehicle belongs to the company, because you are now on company time (the company doesnât recognize this as on the clock time), and the total time and mileage servicing your daily calls starts at this point and ends when you return the used parts to be |

back to Dell, either same day or next day. This doesnât not take into account the time spent setting appointments in the morning or the expenses in doing so! I call tell you now, my day starts at 6:00 am, checking my call bucket (Work Orders), tracking the DHL Waybillâs in reference to the incoming parts, updating the Qualxserv web-portal of my WOâs (customer contacted, No customer contact, part-wait and ETAâs etc). If you complain about anything, you will see the number of assigned calls decrease to the point that you will not be able to make a living. If you have attended any of the company conference calls (long distance), you not being reimbursed the phone charges you incurred which we had last week for 1 hour. Iâm looking for a new job. |

I was hired by someone in PA. She lied her ass off about everything I would receive. Have you done anything about this? I would like to know so we can build a case against these frauds! |

File a labor action in your state. They will say you "knew" you were an "independant contractor" but that's bunk! The guy who hired me lost.....Qualx are a bunch of flakes too. |

what is a labor action? I am planning on filing for unemployment compensation. I also have some customers that can back me up on some of the actions taken against me. I want to nail their asses good! Any help is much appreciated. |

File a labor action as in go to the Labor Commissioner, look in your phone book, white pages, under State, Department of Industrial Relations.......they will bring an action on your behalf, bring your proof, nail your liar commando. The more ex employees file these actions possibly for fraud the better chances. QualXServ is frankly just as culpable but they've covered their butts pretty well so you'll just have to be happy to direct your grievances at a more local level, starting with who hired you. Too many employees have simply walked away and this causes these sub contractors to feel they've done nothing wrong. The one that hired me I heard had already lured more unsuspecting sorts in thru Craig's List. Amazing! |

Thanks for the help today. Here is another incident that just happened today to me. I had a co worker call me and made threats against me for "playing games" with him of sorts. When I called HR, i got, "we investigated it..." and nothing more. I still have the voice mail on the work phone and wonder if that is more to help strengthen the case. As for who hired me, I have no idea. That was over 2 years ago. I am trying to get HR to send me all documents. Any more advice, please let me know. I want to nail them so bad! |

Yeah, me....I'm getting ready to sue them and have already filed with the labor board. Can you please contact me at npudoff@yahoo.com. Maybe we can get a class action going or something. Thanks. |

Count me in on the class action! Here is a positive for you all to think about. If you remember my other comments about being fired, this is news to your ears. I WON my unemployment case against them. They hired some firm in St. Louis and they didn't show up for the hearing. So they had no choice but to award me with the case! Take that Qualxserv!! |

Hardass's comments are almost 100% accurate. You can see the $135 amount that Dell pays QXS by looking up an old WO (Work Order) at the right time. I can be assigned 10 calls/day by the CAT (Computer Assigned Tech) system automatically & have had as much 17/day forced by the DTS (District Transaction Specialist, AKA dispatcher) manually. All require SAME DAY service from our point of view. So much for "benefit-exempt, part-time employment" as it was described.

Speaking as a QSP, we are part-timers, so there are no benefits, but the pay per incident is fair which includes mileage from site to site and reimbursement for mileage over 35 between the pickup location and site to site. Bonuses can be very good when doing exceptional work or traveling outside your normal area of coverage. A good attitude is appreciated by our customers and QXS Management. It's the complainers and poor performers who generally have issues with QXS. Those technicians need to find another job. God bless you all!!! |

My stack rating is always in the mid to upper 30s and in the past I cheerfully ran any call I received. They shafted me anyways. QXS forms a partial vacuum with its mouth. (The "We do not allow vulgar language, personal attacks, or advertising in our forums. Please edit your comment appropriately." thing won't let me post what I want to say. |

Bill, Chill man, my purpose in joining this forum was not to aggravate you or others who did or are doing your work satisfactorily or better for Qualxserv. I just wanted to point out that not all of us DSP's feel dumped on and that we are treated fairly by management, and it matters how a tech gets along with their ROS or DTS since they're our main POC for QXS. I understand about personality differences, but I also understand about the pressures of working in a HQ and working in the field. We need support, they should feel they need us. Suppose I just wanted to add some balance to the conversation here since it appears most are using this for a gripe forum and I don't see anywhere that that is the purpose of this forum. Sorry I stepped on some feet with my statements, but blasting out in anger will not help you or anyone in the long run. You or others may have the option of legal recourse and I hope whomever advises you will urge you to do it in good spirits (and I don't mean drinking down a bottle). Me, well I'm lucky to be getting one job a day recently in my area of coverage, but I am fortunate to have other fires in the pot, so to speak to help pay the bills. I don't look at a company in the business of parts replacement and some troubleshooting to be a permanent, long-time, full-time job. You've got better opportunities ahead of you, let this go man, for your own peace of mind. |

BFOJ in Virginia said: Bill, Lots of peace of mind here; I'm just hanging out and job hunting. I was as happy as you were until they added a new tech and pushed me out of my home city and state without even telling me. I found out when I went two weeks with a total of five or six calls, all with about 100 mile round trips where maybe 15 miles qualified for pay. Then they didn't return my calls for a week or so until I finally declined a call for the first time. |
