Hey.. I have been reading everyones comments. But I am hoping that since:
A - I already have a good full-time job and plan to do this only part-time weekends/evenings/overnights ..
B - I live in L.A. so it's not like Montana where you have to travel hours before reaching a site
That maybe I will like this job OK after all. I make good $$ just need a bit extra. Don't mind the hours. I just applied and got a call back (haven't returned the voicemail yet) and apparently they are having group interviews this week. Now I am going to work there no matter what but I would also like my husband working with me too. It would make it easier with the wacky hours and to pass the time (we are professional just helps to have eachother there). Should I just have us both apply seperately and act like we don't know eachother or at the interview should we tell them? Do they have any official or unofficial policies about this? Personally I would hire us first because we are more likely to stay at the job since we have eachother.

Also I see alot about meeting up and riding in vans.. do we drive our own vehicles to some site and then ditch them to ride in a strangers car? Or have to take strangers to some location? Keep in mind this is L.A. urban area..not Montana or midwest.. so might be different..

Thanks!

There are a lot of couples who work in my district. For the most part, our DM just schedules them in stores together. So I wouldn't necessarily think you need to hide the fact that the two of you are married. As far as taking the company vans to stores..usually we just meet at the office and leave our cars there and then ride to whatever store, count it, and come back. This is typically reserved for stores far away or stores at the airport or any place that may require money to park. Lastly, no they don't do background checks. You'll get hired in the group interview. You just have to take a basic math test and then you'll scan some stuff on a wall. Even if you don't pass those, they'll let you take it again. But most people do pass on the first try.

You still fill out an I-9. You would be considered an employee and would get a paycheck every two weeks.

RGIS does criminal background check only.
You are classified as a "W2 Employee" you will get a W2 at the end of the year not an 1099.

Yes, but I don't think they take it to seriously.
