Every business has it's own style. What is the office environment and culture like at RadioShack?

Are people dressed in business casual, jeans and t-shirts, or full-on suits? Do folks get together for Friday happy hours and friendly get-togethers?

What is a typical day in the life of an employee at RadioShack?

Basically, in spite of what RadioShack propaganda says about it being a "fun" place to work, proceed with EXTREME Caution. RadioShack from my experience was a terrible place to work.

Basic rule... if they say a place is "fun" to work, either is geared for people who have a child mentality, work with children, or it pays like garbage.

Yeah, avoid Radio Shack like the plaque! I can't tell you how many people i've seen it affect badly, workers and managers have to go drink not to have fun but to deal with the job! And not just where I worked but stores in the surrounding cities. And I can't tell you how much turnaround there is, people constantly quiting! I haven't seen so many store manager positions available at so many surrounding stores the whole time i was there. And it's funny because after I got hired I heard a manager say if you got an interview with Radio shack then you got the job LOL. And it's true!
The pay really sucks too. It's minimum wage plus commission. It's not easy to make much commission. Most of it comes with wireless sales and even those aren't easy to make money off of. And they want to include accessories for everything and want you to get warranties on a lot of items (even items that don't make sense to get a warranty on!) And don't get me started on how they can screw the customers with their warranty services!
The morale is really low at the stores and district managers are really lame, nothing but cheerleaders that don't understand what's going on and what would really sell and they don't want to hear it and they expect wayyy too much from employees. I was relieved when I quit and so was everyone else I saw quit before me, including managers!!!
