Every business has its own style. What is the office environment and culture like at Republic Services, Inc.? Are people dressed in business casual, jeans and t-shirts, or full-on suits? Do folks get together for Friday happy hours and friendly get-togethers? What is a typical day in the life of an employee at Republic Services, Inc.? |

I had a terrible experience in Commerce City. Not only was the position that was posted throughout the web incorrectly stated (I contacted careerbuilder.com and Republic Services is now flagged, if they post the same job title again an investigation will ensue, I did this to ensure this doesn't happen to someone else), but I was lied to about my hours and frequency of riding on a truck at 4am. I had applied for an office position. Very negative experience that I left another job for. Dress depends on your position in the office, but expect business casual with a little more emphasis on the casual. Some people do hang out after work or go to lunch together. The days can be long but unless you are management you are paid overtime. The work day can start as early as 4am or as late as 9am. How social the work day is depends on which dept you are in. Some are very social, some are down right cold towards each other. Drivers wear jeans and company provided uniforms and shoes. Expect long days, but that is where most make their money (overtime). The drivers are more social but you sit in a truck by yourself all day. They communicate via walkie-talkie devices and meet regularly throughout the week. Republic Services does do pre-employment and random drug tests. Transportation, which ultimately is what this company does, is not an industry for drug users. |
