What do you think -- is this company going to survive and thrive? Are they looking to expand their staff, or do you think layoffs are inevitable?

How does Richmond American Homes stack up against the competition?

If you are aware of whats going on in the new home sales, then you know that right now traffic is down thru the sales office doors. Richmond doesn't care how bad it is, if you can't sell at least 1 per week, then they will let you go. They don't care that within a sales area with 3 Richmond communities selling against each other and they give more incentive to one vs. another and you are working the same prospect and they can get more included features in their base price and not have to pay for them, plus get a 55k to 60k incentive and you lose the sale because of this. The VP of sales shouldn't be a VP, because they don't know the markets that Richmond is selling in and in this time and market that it is extremly competitive and you keep telling them that you can't compete against competitors giving higher incentives and your own company gives more incentive to one of Richmonds communities that is only 2 miles away...Just not a great company to work for, at least with the current VP of sales.

I recetly left RAH. Unfortunatly, the industry is down and slow and RAH is one of the slowest companies in Las Vegas. Truthfully, they are losing good sales agents left and right because they don't alway treat them with respect and fairness. Layoff's do seem inevitable considering that they are not opening new communities and do have a loyal group of employees who will always get first pick.

This company has a true totem poll effect. Its not entirely a bad compnay especially if you like to play politics at the office and are a good salesman. Otherwise, you'd do better off with a company that pays base plus commissions.

RAH doesn't pay salary or base. They pay a $2,000/mo draw that you are required to pay back. You are on a competitive floor which means that you and your co-agent will split 1.5% of the sales price with .9% going to the writing agent and .6% to the second agent. RAH does offer tons of bonuses at the corporate and local areas for when you write deals.

Its a tough company to work, but you never know you might like it.

very high turn over in chicago market, the VP(formerly with Kennedy)hires all of her old cronies from Kennedy. She doesn't have a clue. She treats her sales associates differently, letting some slide and break the protocol of what is allowable in regards to discounting (incentives) chances are if you don't sell at least 4 per month, you wlll be history. Housing market is down and Richmond is weak, especially in Chicago.
