Do you work at Richmond American Homes? How did you find the job? How did you get that first interview? Any advice for someone trying to get in? |

I put my resume in on their website and went to a group interview where they hired 5 people. I have previous new home sales so that helped. If you don't have any new home sales experience you have to start at the bottom like any other industry. Get a real estate temp job, then a mediocore real estate job like condo conversions, then you can go for the bigger companies. Good luck. RAH is desperate for people to work for them. They might even take you with no experience. Just tell tell them taht you love to close deals and have a huge market base already. |

I currently work for Richmond and I could not disagree with you more. Hostile, I think not more like getting the job done right. Richmond has always been the builder I wanted to work for and when I got the job I was exstatic. I still am too. If you are closer work here, if your not then I can see how someone may view it as hostile. The goal at any builder is too close, and if your not closing your costing. |

Any american that still thinks these corporations are going to continue to thrive is crazy. I have worked in real estate for over 10 years as an Escrow Officer and have yet to see any deviation from the final analysis. Hello, if everybody went out today and applied for jobs, there would not be enough for everyone. As an Escrow Officer, I see how this industry destroys people. They lose not only their souls, but there spouses, homes, children, gain addictions. I love what I do as a practice, but the reality of it all is that it is not my life. No "job" is worth it. |

Now take a look at who has more cash on the books and the one holding the most is Richmond. If you ever listen to Jim Cramer's stock show you will have heard that every builders stock is dropping except M.D.C. (RAH) in fact he recommened buying it. I am on job board trying to help someone got a job at a great company! |

I agree, every company has it good and bad points. The bad about the home building industry is the market is not good now. I knew 3 people who worked in construction and the turnover was nuts. |

I have interviewed at RAH in Maryland and found everyone there very nice to talk with. The VP of Sales was informative and pleasant along with HR and Sales Manager. I noticed all the negatives are coming from the West Coast. Does anyone have comments about the East Coast; Maryland to be specific? I was impressed with what I saw and heard! |
