I recently applied for the position of Territory Manager and was informed by email that the company was going to pursue others with qualifications that better matched the job description. I have an extensive retail background and currently work in a job that is strictly sales driven. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to help me figure out what I did wrong in the application process? I remember reading you can apply every six months, I would like to be prepared for when that six months rolls around. You can reply to me on here or email me at maryelaird@yahoo.com. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I worked for rj reynolds and they hire people with all sorts of backgrounds and work experience. A friend who recently got hired worked for Olive Garden for the last 5 years before getting a job as a TM. What I suggest is having somebody look over your resume, and also stress the job description keywords as well.

Ditto - working for the tobacco industry will most likely make you dumber after a year.
