It's a shame so many people seem to have terrible experiences with Robert Half. My experience with Robert Half began in the Fort Collins Accountemps office. While they were unable to place me immediately (Fort Collins job market is notoriously poor), they did find me a GREAT consulting project that added some great experience to my resume. Shortly afterward, I moved to CT. I worked with both the Accountemps and Robert Half team and they placed me in some great positions IMMEDIATELY that also pumped up my resume and I made some great friends through my temp positions. They always seem to have something open for me and I have had to turn down several requests. On the permanent side they have gotten me several interviews with top companies. They found me a great permanent position that I have since grown out of and I am now going back to them for the next step in my career. I know several of the recruiter's in the office and they always return my calls. RHI also provides software training online & access to many text books that I found to be very helpful, specifically in learning about payroll and benefits accounting. I think the key for my success with RHI was finding the right recruiter and maintaining an upbeat, can do attitude at all times. |

RHI is one of the worst companies I've ever had to deal in my professional career - placement company or any other. The placement folks in the Stamford office of RHI are only self motivated - they DO NOT have your best interests in mind; they only want to fill as many jobs as they can & they will lie and misinform you once they do. I can go into very precise detail for anyone that wants it, but to summarize - avoid this company if you can!! Unfortunately, they somehow get a very large selection of job listings, so you may need to deal with them at somepoint, but if you are in Stamford try to use one of the other placement firms (some of the ones that only have NYC offices are starting to list jobs for Stamford, so you might want to look into some of those comapnies, too.) |

A refreshing breath of fresh air! You make an excellent pt. Ivory: It's the recruiter that makes your experience, not the company. In other words, don't hate the player, hate the game. To all the others tilting at windmills on these forums, your postings would be of greater use to others if you made recommendations like "So and so" is unprofessional or nonresponsive vs. I HATE RHI! Honestly, what impact upon a $4bn a year company do you think anonymous complaints on a random forum are going to have? There are good recruiters and bad, honest car salesmen and crooks, and on and on it goes. The RHI Permanent placement team places about 1 out of every 8 people it meets. The other seven, it seems, make a career out of posting here... RHI also provides software training online & access to many text books that I found to be very helpful, specifically in learning about payroll and benefits accounting.
