What do you think -- is this company going to survive and thrive? Are they looking to expand their staff, or do you think layoffs are inevitable?

How does Robert Half Finance & Accounting stack up against the competition?

Hopefully the place will self destruct, the recruiters will crawl back under their rocks, and we will all finally be free of their unethical business practices.

Shouldn't you be busy lying to some un-expecting clients instead of playing on the net? Professionals across the country have no use for Robert Half or its unethical business practices. Take the blinders off Robert Half’s reputation in the industry is dismal. Unfortunately, most people have negative experiences with the hell which is the Robert Half organization, FAKE JOBS, FALSE CLAIMS, BAD COMMUNICATION, UNPROFESSIONAL STAFF, etc, etc, etc. First rule of complaints - for every 1 complaint expressed there are hundreds who have the same opinion but just don’t express it. Stop complaining about negative comments and work toward improvements which will generate positive experiences.

I am sure there are a few good RH/Accountemps offices - but like others, that has not been the case for me either. All of the same in:

Long Island, Manhattan, Dallas, and Palm Springs. I could bore myself and all of you with the details - bottom line is:

They do not care on iota whether you are employed at a decent wage. BOTTOM LINE!

This job is a lead only. This company fish flops and seeks people for jobs and they are a revolving door.

I know who this ad is for and they run by a nut case.

A former Robert Half Manager said it best his comments follow:

I worked for RHI for 4 years 3 as a manager, and will give you the scoop. All they care about is their bottom line and nothing else. The turnover is horrible (god forbid your a top producer and have a bad quarter..you are gone), the post false jobs and as many as possible to bombard the job boards, and never return calls. This company had a great reputation but once they become a 3 billion organization they lost site of who they were and what made them successful. They treat their employees like crap and their candidates. They even lie to clients to produce jobs. I work for a small firm now with a great reputation and believes in ethics. Just some advice..If you are looking for a recruiter, focus on the small firms that will give you the attention needed and time to talk and really get to know you. Good luck in 2007 with your job search.

I say to everyone try them for your self and experience first hand the hell which is Robert Half.

Thanks everyone! I had applied online for Accountemps and when I did receive a voice mail message from someone there, I called them back and had to leave a message. No return call. Then, I received a call from the manager and something about him just didn't sit well with me, but I made an appt to come in. Then, I did a Google search on the company and found this site and read the truth. I cancelled my appt. So, thanks everyone! I had had a bad experience with a staffing agency before, and I'm not going to go through the same thing again. I'll just wait a little longer to get a new job.

I lost my job due to an office closure at the beginning of April. I haven't been unemployed since I was 15 years old. Since I have a degree in Finance and Accounting with 12 years experience in various Accounting positions, I contacted the Robert Half office by telephone after completing an online profile. They were too busy to talk, but took down my name and number and said they would call back. Two days went by and nothing. Their office is only a few miles from my home in West Chester, so I stopped by one afternoon on the way back home from an unrelated interview. The young girl up front with skin tight black dress pants and purple thong sticking out the back asked "did you fill out an online profile?" I said yes. She then said "wait for us to call you back." That call never came. CRAZY, since RH never has any less than 200 Accounting jobs posted on Careerbuilder every stinking day. I have an Accounting degree from Duke University and 12 years experience. In less than two weeks, I easily found a job on my own, and have never heard back from Robert Half.

RHI is the largest & most successful firm in the world. It is a $4 Billion company.

Placement agencies are not social service programs. If you're not getting placed at RHI, chances are we are not the only ones not hiring you. If you're not happy with our services, find it elsewhere because we don't want your business to begin with.
Since you did not get hired through RHI, one can bet you either are a job hopper, were fired, received horrible references, or interviewed terribly. Look at yourself, don't blame the firm.

Who is the poster in Pleasanton, California defending RHI? Am I correct in assuming that you work for the company? Your defense of them seems to be very passionate. Could you address specifically the troubling issues noted by JT in West Chester, OH? He/she mentioned a specific office and direct examples of how RHI did not even take the time to asses a pretty strong prospective client. Based on JT's post, it is clear that RHI didn't have enough information to discern whether or not JT was a job hopper, was fired, interviewed terribly or had bad references. I would think anyone who takes pride in Robert Half like you do should contact the correct personnel to investigate the claims made by JT regarding that specific office.
I don't understand how RHI could be a 4 billion dollar company----but if it's true, RHI could be an 8 billion dollar company if they started doing it better.

This is for Stop B*tching: I receive calls and e-mails nearly every day from all over the country about open positions. I cannot even get Robert Half to return my call over probably the one and only actual position that have advertised in the Nashville area. This job isn't even a long Par 4 from where I work now. I don't expect them to place me in every job they have open but I should be on their short list for this one.

Agencies are suppose to listen to their candidates not lie to them! Ironically, I can't find negative anything with the other agencies I work with. Obviously you and RH are not doing you job by looking at all these negative comments.

Your comments are all very very correct. It's the same experience I shared in Houston. Not only are they very rude, careless, selfish and very unethical, but to my greatest surprise racist! I pray they go to hell and I recommend no one even go there.

Well, the truth is that there are more people unemployed than there are jobs. So, no matter how excellent your references, job history, and college education are, you may be unemployed. RH doesn't have enough positions for everyone so they just pretend to have enough. Some very well qualified people are going to be ignored because they are just one agency.

I accepted a position at a company that was supposed to be a staff accountant. It was grunt work and I was miserable. I contacted a recruiter at Robert Half about another job. She was friends with this manager at the job I was miserable at. The recruiter told the manager about me seeking employment elsewhere so soon and guess what? I'm blackballed from Robert Half and she told my manager and I ended up leaving on terrible terms. I strongly suggest to everyone to stay clear of the company. This was very unethical conduct and I'm still paying the price for it two years later.

I have to say that it is unbelievable that a company could be so unethical. I was downright lied to by a sleezy recruiter (Victor Muller - Westborough - MA...avoid this guy at all costs). I want to elevate my issues to someone at the Corporate level. Has anyone here tried that, do they have a particular person/department that they would reccomend I speak to? In this economy especially, with so many external forces outside the candidates control in the job market, to then be taken advantage of by someone in a role to help you is beyond unfortunate. I have a feeling though that this guy is making his sales quotas due to his sleezy business practices and at the end of the day, that is all Corporate cares about...

None of these things are true in my case. I have an amazing resume and experience and ended up unemployed due to downsizing with the recession. I am now employed in a dead end job that was supposed to be a 3 month gig until the Finance Manager left the firm (told to me by the RHI recruiter) and guess what...that never happened. Turns out the individual never had any intention of leaving. So I was lied to, to my face...open and shut case.

I hope they are paying you well to advocate for their web of lies.
