If you take all the comments written about Robert Half on this forum and others you'll end up with a net of zero. They are as polarizing as George W. Bush, which gives you an idea of who they would be if the company was reduced down to one person. Indeed, there are lot's of good people at Robert Half San Francisco, but there are also a lot of sc*mb$gs there too. It's the nature of the beast. They work on what they call 'Closest to the dollar', like many other recruiting firms, which means, focus on who's got the most immediate potential to being hired and thus get paid. The marching orders come from the top where ideas and working formulas over the years are distilled and pushed out to the ranks. "Don't reinvent the wheel", they'll say when you're hired, "just get on the phone and make the calls". It's a sales organization, nothing more, and they take no prisoners. So, if that's you, go for it. You will be among friends (but watch your back). If you're looking for a job, then let them get you in-roads into companies as it's part of their job is to bully themselves into companies and "mushroom" (their term) into other areas of the firm. They bully their candidates and bully their clients. If you want to be a recruiter, work at a smaller firm. If you're looking for a job, try craig's list! Good luck... |
