My 40+ husband is an accounting executive with 20 years experience. Unfortunately, the industry he was involved in only moves you up if you jump from property to property and positions can dissolve and reappear like magic. This can look bad to someone who doesn't understand this.

In his attempts to get out of this industry I naively kept encouraging him to apply for positions with RH. Indeed, the "new" jobs were always suddenly filled. He did not get the courtesy of call returns and he/we wasted valuable time trying to track down RH staff.

They really do NOT have their fingers on the pulse of executive recuitment requirements. If they are trying to survive on commission, why don't they get off their butts? Another agency placed my husband twice in the past four years and made MANY thousands of dollars. (He was the one who had to co-authorize the payments, so he knew the exact amounts.)

He is gaining valuable contacts and experience in new areas and we hope this last move will be permanent.

Because they probably have millions of resumes of late 20
or 30 somethings they can place for $10K less than your husband and they want volume instead of quality. They don't want to take the chance that a client would balk over the higher salary even though there was more experience there.
