They are a $4.5 Billion company. They place people every day. They are successful. This fact cannot be disputed.

The proper way to work with them is to use them as a supplement to your own search. Meet with them, because there is a chance that they can place you, but don't wait for them or hold your breath. However, one day you may get a call from them out of the blue and they might have the perfect job for you.

Also, it is HIGHLEY recommended that you demand to be represented by someone with at least 1.5 years of experience. Also, send an email to them periodically to make sure that your recruiter is still with the company, and to keep your name fresh in his/her mind.

Utilizing this advice will solve most of the problems outlined in all of these discussion forums.

This will depend on which city you live. I live in Memphis and my Robert Half rep has been extremely UNHELPFUL!!! He DOES NOT return phone calls or emails unless I use some "strong language". When I ask him if he is still looking for me he tells me that he "thought" I was working an assignment for Accountemps. But he never bothered to check with me to find out.
It's true you do have to be persistent and use them as a supplement, but make sure you get a rep who at least half-way cares.

RHI is a joke!!! Yes they have tons of positions, and yes they place individuals daily. But, when you work with them (at a snails pace) and pound the pavement on your own God forebid you get an offer from them and an offer on your own. This happened to me and I accepted the offer I found on my own. The RHI recruiter was SO rude and disrespectful to me when I told him that I could not accept the offer. He stopped just short of cursing at me. I guess he got upset that he would not be earning a commission, what about me being able to earn a living??? Guess that was not too important to him, especially when the offer he brought back to me was $5,000 UNDER my salary requirement. They are crazy!

You got placed by the Ann Arbor office? I can't even get through on the phone to them after 3 months!

It really is amazing how many negative things people have to say about RHI. Personally, I have not found them to be helpful, reliable or terribly professional.

The opening that they offered to me was as a recruiter with them. Ha! Like that was ever going to happen.

I have to agree with the original poster. Use them in conjunction with your own searching & networking and continue to follow up with them. Other than that, they aren't too helpful.

Well no offense..but Robert Half is a joke. They even send you on interviews for positions you are not interested in...must have to fill a quota or something. Even when you apply for Robt Half positions they never bother to respond to you. A total waste of time. Unprofessional and just plain mean.

RH is the worst. Most of the staffing agencies have the same jobs to offer, just go to the others. RHI charges the most to there clients, 35% for first year...thus you are less likly to be hired through them.
