Why is it impossible for Robert Legal to communicate with the very people they are to be helping find a job. I had a temp job end that I was at for 5 months, once that job was complete, Robert Legal seemed to have nothing to do with me, while I sat in worry over getting another job. Can someone please tell me the answer to this? |

Can someone please tell me the answer to this? They're very unprofessional. 2 people interviewed me, and none of them bothered to send me a thank you note. Further, they never responded to my e-mails. |

I had some early success with them but over time realized that that had resulted from my abilities and luck that my resume was plucked from the pile. Their staff is just a pool of otherwise unemployed attorneys just paying the bills and flips like Florida real estate. Your resume just gets handed off from rookie to rookie and regardless of your qualifications or skills, you won't be presented to a client except by luck. You get no points for being a good earner for them or improving their client relations with your performance. Your account with them resets to zero at the end of every job no matter what you accomplished. I'm finished with them. |

My friend did temp spots as legal secretary in Detroit area and was told that as far as finding a permanent position through Robert Half Legal, they couldn't be bothered because she wasn't stable enough in her work history, jumped around a lot, and that they didn't want to try to help her. Just as long as she was available when they felt like calling her for a temp assignment did she get any attention from them whatsoever. She was so insulted that she will never work with this agency again. She is warning anyone who wants to sign up with Robert Half not too. They're too insulting. |

I applied to Robert Half several years ago for a Paralegal position. The recruiter never bothered to check my references. When I applied again, not only had the recruiter left, but since it was more than 3 months since I had worked at my former position, they would not consider me since they considered the references no longer valid. Another place to stay from is KELLY LAW REGISTRY> they will find you a couple of temp jobs then drop you!!!! |

I worked for Robert Half for several years. I often had candidates who could not understand why my team and I did not find new jobs when an assignment ended. First, bear in mind I would loved to have had all my candidates on assignement as I was paid on commission and the more folks I had working the better. As such, I would sometimes have jobs that were outside our typical job profile and could place a candidate on this job that was not a fit for our typical job. Once the candidate's job ended it could be awhile before another atypical job would come alongthat was a good fit for the candidate again. I stay away from temp services |

In April I was told that the assignment that I am going is an temp to hire and when I arrived at the assignment, I was a file clerk not a legal assistant which I was told to be. The client advises me that this assignment is only for two weeks and when I mentioned to the client that I am not a file clerk, client just went on their merry way and ignore my credentials. I called Robert Half immediately and just ignore me. Then out of the blue, the client let me go and told a bold face lie that I was sleeping on the job and Robert Half believed the client over me. How convenient. NEVER USE ROBERT HALF IN HOUSTON AGAIN. |

newsflash - if no one calls you - you disappointed the firm and your recruiter, only they're all too nice (or cowardly) to tell it to your face. the truth is, if you're rockstar at what you do, you would've gotten a perm offer or the recruiter would've placed you on a different assignment w/in a month. why is it so impossible to believe that maybe it's you and not the whole world? |

Unfortunately, that is usually not the case. I have a permanent job that I found through a direct listing by the company. RH once had a temp assignment for the same company and wouldn't send me in. I also had interviews with companies whose ads I found on craigslist where RH said they had submnitted my resume. The people at the companies had never received my resume and the interviews went quite well. I recently had the HR person at a firm I temped at RH tell me that RH wasn't returning her phone calls for summer help. I don't know how other feel, but I'm convinced it's not me. By the way, I will be in a book as one of the most successful paralegals in America and was named as a Paralegal Superstar by paralegalgatewy. That kind of shoots your rockstar to the lower regions. |

I'm starting to wonder about companies that use Robert Half. I had some decent assignments, but I also had some really crappy ones. Also, the number of HR people that I spoke with who had bad experiences with RH really lead me to wonder. Maybe the companies are reluctant to use RH candidates. Written by a Paralegal Hiring Manager to one of the list servs I moderate in response to a complaint at RH: "Certain agencies have a bad reputation with employers and we refuse to do business with those organizations. With issues ranging from overzealous sales reps to exaggerated candidate qualifications - we find ourselves putting some organizations on the Firm's "do not use" list. – Of course, this impacts candidates listed with those firms.
The person who posted this is in charge of hiring for one of the top law firms in the world. It is very similar to the comments I got from other HR managers when I went on interviews that RH swore they had submitted me for and the firm waas not interested. When I applied directly to the firms, I was interviewed. Conncect the dots. My advice is that you use www.craigslist.org
and look for ads that are placed directly by the firms themselves. You can also go to a firm's website, where under the careers section, they will have listings of openinigs. For example: www.littler.com
These are the websites for some of the largest firms. You can also google the names of other firms, get their websites, and look at their websites to assist in your search. |

I am on permanent at a firm that RH refused to send me in on for a temp assignment. I knew about the firm, was very interested, etc. Well, I'm here now due to my own efforts. Shows those Half-wits! In addition to directly applying to firms themselves, GoodWill Community Foundation offeres tutorials and classes in computer software. Goodwill is an internationally recognized provider of CEUs (Continuing Education Units) so if you take one of their classes, you can print out a certification of completion. Good way to utilize time while you're looking. www.gcflearnfree.org/index.aspx?referrerID=264 Deborah James |

I worked with them and had a difficult time with the agent. She lacked people skills and many times made major errors that made both herself and the employee look bad. All over, I would say that Kelly Law Registry is decent, but until they get rid of this particular agent, they will lose many people. |

I had the same experience with the rep I dealt with at Kelly Law Registry. My hunch is that it is the same one you dealt with. |
