Every business has it's own style. What is the office environment and culture like at Robert Half Legal?

Are people dressed in business casual, jeans and t-shirts, or full-on suits? Do folks get together for Friday happy hours and friendly get-togethers?

What is a typical day in the life of an employee at Robert Half Legal?

I worked for the company for several years. I will be blunt and not exaggerate. This is written from the temp side of the house.

The company is very stressful to work for. They manage by fear and like to keep employees fearing for their jobs. Mind you I was a very solid producer as judged by the scorecard (employee ranking by revenue for each week) so it wasn't that I was a poor employee. Additionally, micromanagement regins supreme. They will talk about you running your business, but at the end of the day you have very little autonomy. Dress is always professional (suit and tie) except Friday where biz casual is allowed unless you have a CV (client visit). The turnover is VERY high. The environment is very high energy but it burns most folks out in less than two years. The upside is you will have no fear of cold calling and will be a superstar at any other company. RH requires 25 connects per day (i.e. actual substantive conversation with 25 people each and every day). Talk to any other folks you know who do cold calling and you will find out this is a very high standard. If you can cut it at RH you can cut it anywhere. Many folks dont last two weeks. You will hate management but love your team - unless they steal credit for job orders . . . . On balance I would not recommend anybody work for them however. If you do decide to take the plunge, go perm as that is where the big money is. You will starve for the first year or so however. Temp you make good money within a few months but will make less. Expect 65,000 to 80,000 in temp depending on your market. Perm you can go upwards of $150,000 if you put in several years and work til your eyes bleed.

Thank you for the warnings. Can you give me an idea what they offer as a base salary for a legal recruiter just out of law school?

Thank you
