Was contacted today by someone from their DC office about a 'great' job. I told him I might be interested but wasn't going to be 'fooled twice', i.e. I was not going to fall for coming into their office again, thus giving the recruiter what RHMR terms a "connect" (which they are goaled on). As soon as I said that, he wanted to put the 'account manager' on the line. The account manager said that their new policy was to check references before a resume goes to any client. I said that I was not going to have them bother my references, unless a mutual interest was established between the client and me. He said they couldn't take my 'candidacy' further.

I am meeting with a recruiter on Monday, not RH, and will not be giving her my references either without a mutual interest as you mentioned. I do have an interview for a position I want and found on my own on Tuesday and I will not have too many people calling my former supervisors and co workers. Will post if the new recruiters office seems real. |
