Please see comments in the other Forums - Robert Half Technology, Robert Half International, Robert Half Legal, Robert Half Finance & Accounting, Robert Half Resources. They are all the same, they just keep changing names so people don't catch on. Robert Half is full of Half-Wits, so your self a favor & don't send anything to them, don't call them, and don't answer any ads for Robert Half - the job is a fake. STAY AWAY FROM ROBERT HALF. I live in the MA, CT, RI area. The NE area has fewer and fewer jobs available, however, if you go to the job boards your bombarded with listings for dozens & dozens of jobs in specific areas. There is NO WAY possible so many open jobs exist. These headhunter's don't give a damn about you or your situation they are sales people looking for their next commission. Most of them are rejects who can't find a job themselfs. There are no jobs, they make up jobs and post them, they are just tring to get as many resumes as they can & as soon as a job does come available they bombard the hiring company with tons of resumes hoping one will stick. As a hiring manager I never used them, as an out of work professional I stoped dealing with them. The absolute worst is ROBERT HALF (the others are a close second) I reqistered with them & they don't return calls, don't respond to email, etc. I think employment firms should start to be regulated by the fed, it would serve them right, maybe we could get a grain of honesty out of them. anonymous in Ashaway, RI 28 days ago

I had similar experience in Philly with RH. The are all on commission and struggling to make a paycheck. They sent me on a interview for which I was over qualified. RH wasted my time.

A former Robert Half Manager said it best his comments follow: I worked for RHI for 4 years 3 as a manager, and will give you the scoop. All they care about is their bottom line and nothing else. The turnover is horrible (god forbid your a top producer and have a bad quarter..you are gone), the post false jobs and as many as possible to bombard the job boards, and never return calls. This company had a great reputation but once they become a 3 billion organization they lost site of who they were and what made them successful. They treat their employees like crap and their candidates. They even lie to clients to produce jobs. I work for a small firm now with a great reputation and believes in ethics. Just some advice..If you are looking for a recruiter, focus on the small firms that will give you the attention needed and time to talk and really get to know you. Good luck in 2007 with your job search. I say to everyone try them for your self and experience first hand the hell which is Robert Half. |

Interesting about RH in Columbus, Ohio 64 months ago |
As a supervisor for a help desk, I was trying to find a better opportunity and I sought help through RHI. What sleaze balls. The only time I ever got calls from my so called rep was to ask if I NEEDED any temp help that they could place in my current company. Scum bags. I was trying to get help and they were only trying to use me to get their claws in the door at my company. |

I was called by RHI for the same temp job that I was already recruited for by another agency. I started working for the company through the other agency. When I asked RHI what the rate was, they low-balled me by $6 (yes, $6) per hour. I then told them that I had started working for this company that week, and what my rate was. They asked me what agency I was working for. You have GOT to be kidding !! If this company asks you for any info about other recruiters, supervisor or HR names of the companies you worked for, DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFO !! They will call these people and tell them that they can get a person with the same experience as yourself, but cheaper. DO NOT DO THEIR JOB FOR THEM !! They use this info against you. I almost told one of them that I'd give them a name if they gave me a kickback (joking, of course) |

A lot of these national recruiting companies are a waste of time! I have received a couple calls from Management Recruiters Inc. They promise to market me to other companies AFTER I provide them with references or contacts. Then when I look these guys up on the MRI website, they have no available positions listed anyway, so who are they kidding? I fell for MRI's scam twice, but both times I gave them only one HR contact from my former company. Honestly, there is no reason why anyone can't go directly to the companies themselves. Why add yet another layer between you and the person who has the authority to hire you? |

The reason many companies use recruiters is because they 1) have outsourced their HR dept (available on-line only) 2) their HR dept. does not want to bother or have enough resources in order to check references and drug-test. That should be a red-flag to a job-seeker that the company is not paying enough to keep an HR department, and you will probably not be offered the money that you feel you are worth. A good HR dept. also keeps track of employee training, along with explaining benefits, raises, career goals, etc. The company cares about keeping good employees. Companies that advertise jobs directly most likely means that they have a reliable HR department who really care about who they hire to work there. The company is interested in hiring top talent. I noticed the difference immediately between going through a recruiter and applying directly to a company on-line. |

ALways interesting. People don't have the skills or presentationand blame it on someone else. There is a reason you are out of work to begin with. The "Top Talent" have jobs! Robert Half Technology, Robert Half International, Robert Half Legal, Robert Half Finance & Accounting...great post Rhode Island - if you had a clue, you wouldn't think they were CHANGING their name. They are all subdivisions of Robert Half International. Unlike the small firms, RHI has decided to specialize. HR firms at the largest and "most admired" ranked firms are using RHI and Matrix and Manpower and Ajilon...they see the value in us screening out cry babies and unqualified candidates. Ex_RH...you are on the right post...for the un-qualified and under performing. You failed and you are out - just like any sales...cars, stocks, etc. It is a production business. You were obviously not producing. |

Dear uninteresting in NC. Keep drinking that company cool-aid and keep those eyes closed. Check back in a few more quarters, I believe all these negative experiences with the RH organization is an indication that the company is rapidly losing market share which will result in additional downgrades by the analysts. |

I used to work for RHI (sorry to say), and have friends that still do (and want out). It's a nasty company to work for, and for a company that values "Ethics first", it really is quite a joke. They treat their own employees like garbage, so candidates really can expect the same. It's a numbers game, they don't care much about who you are as a person. I now work for a small recruiting firm, and we really do value our consultants. It was such a refreshing, and eye-opening change to see a company that does recruiting and staffing and treats people right. These companies are out there, you just have to look for them and stay away from the big guys like RHI! |

I usually screen the headhunters. I don't deal with RHI or its divisions at all. There are some good headhunters out there, but you have to tell them EXACTLY what you are looking for in a job. What you want as far as salary, benefits, location, etc. You should use exact amounts, as in "I expect a salary of $70,000, I have such & such experience. I currently have 3 weeks (or whatever the amount) vacation and I will not negotiate for less, because I have worked hard to earn it. My benefits are such & such and I would like benefits that are the same (or better). Describe it in detail, or send an e-mail detailing all of this. "I would like a job with a less commuting time, and a better work/life balance." Please give me all the details about this company and the job before I waste my time on an interview at a company I don't really want to work for. A good headhunter will find a job that suits you. A crappy headhunter will look for the easiest person to put into the job because the jobhunter did not specify what he/she wanted. The easiest person to place is someone who is unemployed. They need A JOB, and may not be able to be too particular about it. Any job will do. I get calls from a lot of headhunters. Once I give them the specs of what I want, most do not call back. I usually research companies through a website called Vault.com and apply to companies directly through their website or on-line ad. I have not gotten a job through a headhunter in years. I don't need to. |

I have to agree that Robert Half Inc is a very unprofessional company. I worked for Protiviti in London for 9 months as their Government Sector expert. I was sacked in April 2007 for raising concerns about Protiviti's non-compliance with legislative requirements. I am now taking legal action against the company and an employment tribunal is scheduled for October 2007. It has turned out that all the company's publicity about having high corporate governance standards was a smoke screen - not a good approach considering Protiviti was started from ex-Andersen partners and staff. You would have thought that they'd learnt their lesson after the Enron affiar. |

Perhaps Protiviti's failure to capitalize on their first mover advantage with Sarbanes Oxley is another indication. They were one of the first in the business, owned and cash flowed by Robert Half, and yet have not become a force in the Sarbanes biz. Good luck with the tribunal. |
