I see people placed every day with RHT. If you don't get the job, you don't get the job. RHT, TekSystems, and others are only a catalyst to facilitate your job search. When it comes down to it, the client (employer) makes the end decision. It is in our best interest to place all of our candidates. However, this simply isn't possible. If it was, our services wouldn't be of use. If you are represented by a consulting firm and you're consistently turned down or rejected when presented for employment opportunities, chances are it's not the staffing firm's fault. I'll interview 100 candidates per week, and only represent 2 - 5 of the strongest. This relieves me of comments and accusations, such as the comments and accusations on this board. With unemployment at 2% in the IT field, the best man usually wins. The best candidate takes rejection with a grain of salt and looks for ways to improve. The best candidate is usually well rounded and presentable, with good hygeine. The best candidate leaves his / her ego at the door and focuses on the job moreso than personal conquest and ego. The best candidate is open to constructive criticism and self improvement, and willing to lead and follow when necessary. This eliminates more than half of the people who posted on this board. It is in our best interest to maintain a long term relationship with our clients. We do so by providing the best candidate for the job. It is also in our best interest to maintain a personal and professional relationship with our candidates. Many of the people I represent have become very close friends. By no means is this business solely about financial and monetary gain. If you want my advice about attaining gainful employment, stop moping on the sidelines and get in the game. Show a sense of urgency, and more importantly, show accountability. You are responsible for your career. We merely assist.
