Does anyone else in the technical field feel that recruiting companies such as RHT, GDH and Teksystems dumb down our field? I truthfully feel that if IT recruiting companies in general where not in business, we the individuals with the skill would be able to find more long term or permanent positions instead of having to deal with contract/temporary positions. Who wants to spend $20,000 - $80,000 on a degree and $150 - $5000 on certifications just to find a contract or temporary position? It makes me think I should have chosen another field. |

I agree, I had an awful experience with Robert Half here in maryland.. they are all SCUMBAGS! |

I agree. I can't find full time employment for the life of me. I keep getting sent on stupid PC Refresh Projects that only last a few weeks and do absolutely nothing to further my knowledge. What ever happened to an HR department that actually accepted and read resumes (none of that resume filtering crap)? All HR does is outsource the job search to staffing companies it seems while they deal only with internal employees. I was recently screwed out of a position because the staffing company was paying me far too little for the company I'd be working for to justify. My only solace is that the staffing company will no longer be given access to positions for the company because they screwed me over. For reference, the staffing company isn't listed in this 'thread.' |
