I have Recently (3/2011) been subjected to THE most Unprofessional people I have ever dealt with...including the small "mom and pop" technical recruiters!
The Recruiter doesn't even Check references...she (in this case)had another extremely unprofessional co-worker check my references. He reported Exactly the Opposite of what he was told by a former Manager who actually CALLED them and gave me a Glowing referral, he also misconstrued information so badly as to made ME out a lair (not to mention the ex-manager who went beyond the call of duty so to speak)!
I had thought of contacting a manger above these individuals but...HE'S the one who hired them!
MY advice? STAY AWAY FROM ROBERT HALF!!!

Hi there-
I work in Robert Half Technology's corporate communications office in Menlo Park and am sorry to hear about your experience. I can't do much research into what happened or help try to resolve it without some additional details. Please feel free to email me directly at corpcomm@rhi.com. I'd love to help get to the bottom of the situation and try to resolve it for you.

UPDATE: What a JOKE! I was bounced around to a couple "well meaning" people (the person above being one of them) and ended up being turned over to a person who is the Supervisor of the very people who Butchered my resume and past supervisors willingness to even speak to me OR give further recommendations of my abilities. He gave a lot of lip service, pretended to submit me for the very job I had been originally contacted for. Insisted that he speak to my ex-supervisor (from THREE + years ago...the one who was terribly mis-quoted when he recommended me highly....who NOW will not even answer the phone when other companies try to contact him for recommendations). and when I told him that I am not surprised that he will not call you back...that he was very pissed And embarrassed and now will not even answer MY calls when I try to reach out to him...He Disappeared! I haven't heard from him in over two weeks. I suppose he thinks it all over...he tried...things will be forgotten now... WRONG!!
So let's recap:
I'm contacted by Robert Half. I'm interviewed by Robert Half. My references are misquoted, I am put up to be a lyer. I then post this experience HERE. I'm then contacted by Two well meaning gentleman (a "Communications Executive and a "Regional VP who then contact the very supervisor in charge of the two idiots who are responsible for doing the misquoting and accusations. This guy then tries to contact the very person (my ex-supervisor) that THEY alienated and because he won't return his phone calls...sweeps it all under the rug.

No offense, but there is probably a reason as to why Robert Half was unable to place you. I can see multiple grammatical errors in your postings and you seem very hostile towards an organization that tries to place consultants, but does not guarantee any placements. I don't think that it is Robert Half who is responsible for getting candidates jobs- I think it is their responsibility to proactively market you profile, coordinate interviews, negotiate rates, etc. Ultimately it is the consultants who determine whether or not they get the job! You could be the best Systems Engineer in the world, but could interview terribly and not get the job. Robert Half only has so much control over the situation.

Maybe it is just a coincidence that your former supervisor went missing and wouldn't even return your calls, yet he still gave you a glowing reference, but it sounds like something is missing. If he was willing to give you such a glowing reference and if you did such great work for him then why wouldn't he respond and confirm his glowing recommendations? It just sounds sketchy to me.

Either way, you cant always read into what is posted on the internet. I have had great experiences with Robert Half and I think it is up to individuals themselves to decide what their experiences with Robert Half could be.

Say what you will my dubious friend. I was misrepresented. The Internet is Littered with negative posts about this company...to your way of thinking, I suppose we are all wrong. Plain and simple, MY Opinion (and apparently many others) Robert Half Sucks. Account Temps, maybe something else exists over there....don't Know...Don't Care.

How do you know for a fact that you were given a glowing referral? Do you know exactly what questions were asked and the answers that were given?

IF answering that question was going to make a difference to the out come and You were someone who Has a Vested Interest I'd answer it.
Suffice it to say the using the exact resume the RH was given I now have a position with one of The most respected R&D labs with one of The largest companies in the World as a Senior Electrical/Engineering Technician......
There is NO error or exaggeration in MY posts.....simple as that.
Personally I am putting the whole thing to bed....MY posts remain to inform future "hopefuls".
