I have an interview on Monday to be an internal recruiter with RHI. Does anyone out there have any unbiased information concerning the position. Ex: Salary or commission, hours worked, employment satisfaction, etc.

I am not interested in reading comments that bash the company, only legitimate experiences.

Thanks!

Take the position if you need the money. Chances are (10 to 1), that you will be gone in 6 months. It is an awful place to work, don't worry you'll see what I'm talkin' about shortly. If you want to be a recruiter, go anywhere but there. If they are offering you 40K, you can get that anywhere as a recruiter.

i couldn't agree more with the 6 months thing.... just got canned from an office which will remain nameless. however, i am looking at other staffing firms in the area, and they are scrambling for my "skill set" and "experience with Robert Half Technology." if you can have thick enough skin to one day be brought in the back office and canned on the spot without warning, it could be a good foray into another company that treats their employees better. keep your toes in the water after month 3.... good things can happen.

RHI has good training and provides most people with the skills to be extremely successful in this industry. Unfortunately, if you do not have results in the first 3-6 months, you will not stay. If you do, expect a rewarding career, much better than the competition. If not, our competition likes Robert Half trained people and will snatch them up pretty quickly.

Just remember, RHT is a professional work environment, in a sales organization, with strict requirements for who we can work with and how we can work with them. If you prefer casual work environments, with organizations that are not bound by regulatory compliance and can do, say, or work with whoever they want however they want, then perhaps you would find competitors are better work environment.

Unfortunately, you asked for unbiased answers, and you got two poor biased remarks and one good biased remark. Good luck!

Thanks for your comment. I had my interview today and the job is actually with Office Team which is portion of RHI. I'm not sure if that will make a difference at all. I meet with the branch manager tomorrow. We'll see. I will say I appreciated the recruiters honesty when she said I should expect to work a 50-55 hour week.

I work for RHT Oklahoma. I work about 50-53 hours per week and am about to start my 6th month. I could see where a lot of the comments about recruiters being unethical come from. You do have plenty of opportunities to be unethical in this environment. I've have seen a few people get canned, but everyone saw it coming. If you do not perform, then you dont stay around too long. Why would a company want to keep someone who is NOT performing? This is the kind of company where you have to come and work everyday. You cannot expect to come in one day and chill at your desk. I think this is why a lot of people do not make it. Also, I think a lot of people get here and are happy with the 50k/base salary that is offered. They dont realize that is just the BASE! You can make 60-65k/yr fairly easily. It took me 5 months to bonus, but my first bonus is going to be ~$2400 before taxes.

Don't take a job with a firm like that. RHI is the worst in the biz, ask any seasoned recruiter. It's the olive garden of recruiting firms. In fact, I would rather all italian food taste like the italian at olive garden then go to them for any consulting or help. This is coming from a post-graduate CPA.

NICE POST

I am being oiffered a spot in a Pennsylvania office for RH, have been in acctg for 12 yrs. The base here is very nice as well, I understand you have to work your butt off, so a bonus after 5 months is what I understand down here is the norm as well

People can not expect to get rich overnight or in 3 months but you can usually place 1-3 peopl in 1st 3months from what I hear then start seeing binus etc after that time and make an additonal 15k-30k a yr over base in 1st 2 yrs. That is what I have heard from others down here in PA

Unfortunately there are also a lot of unethical people as well and some bull but that is like any other company

Hey X - Are you in OKC or Tulsa? I'm curious if 50K is the normal starting pay, or do you need to walk in with some experience...

Hun, Charlotte is the worst. The senior level management for Greenville, Sptg., and Charlotte are all in that office. People are correct on here. Thy will fire you or hire new managers and let them screw everyone over and they do not care. They have went through 40 + people in that office in the last year. The management just does not seem to care. At some point you would think they would ask themselves are we treating people fairly and of it were me in this situation what would I expect. Did you meet the female manger who is the Tenn. vol fan? She will kick you while your down and cannot be trusted any farther than you can throw her.

I am not intentionally bashing anyone but I was laid off after 31 years with a company and after attaining my Masters degree. I am currently enrolled with four or five "headhunters" including Robert Half. Not counting the interviews with the recruiters, I have never repeat never been called for an interview. I wish you the best of luck in your search but headhunters are not what they used to be.

Thanks to everyone for their advice. I interviewed with the company and decided not to take the position. Mostly for the reason of hours they expect an individual to work. Thanks again!

Looks like the recruiting business is turning in to what the mortgage business is today, GREED! Not willing to place qualified people to current jobs only because of their GREED. Don't let recruiters be your only source of getting a job.

I'm a recruiter at Robert Half. Doesn't matter what division. In my first full year with the company I made $120,000. I don't do anything "unethical" but it's easy to see from a candidate's point of view how it can be construed that way. You come into an interview with an old sweater and a pair of corduroy pants on, don't be surprised when the jobs seem to disappear. There's a reason we meet people in person. Our clients pay us the highest fees in the industry for one thing - THE BEST CANDIDATES. If you don't fall into that category, sorry we couldn't help you. There's an ass for every seat, but some of those asses aren't worth 30% of one's annual salary.
