I am still waiting to be paid for work I performed before the holiday. First they told me I'd be paid today, now someone else is telling me I won't be paid until Friday. This is unconscionable. It's down-right theft. I found out through my state's labor board that I could file a wage claim for liquidated damages, which effectively penalizes the company, making them pay more, should they not pay the employee on time. That will be my next step if I don't receive my check ASAP. Just a thought to all of those who've shared the same experience. I guess when the economy gets rough companies will do whatever it takes to hold onto money, even if it means stealing from employees who are actually working for a living, instead of sitting back on their big butts collecting unemployment checks. |
