Do you work at SLEEPYS? How did you find the job? How did you get that first interview? Any advice for someone trying to get in? |

Sleepy's is ok if you don't mind broken promises, rediculously long hours, constant badgering from management about things that mean nothing, people in upper management who couldn't even tie your own shoes. They blame the salespeople for everything that goes wrong. The company will badger your customer to get orders delivered as soon as possible, even though when they give the bed away to do this, you get just about zero for commission.(And this is after you have a paid in full order) Everyone is promised 100 to 200k a year. After a bad economy and flooding the floor with salespeople ( management thinks that the salespeople are idiots and that we are letting dozens of customers walk out of the store without buying), the reality is about 40 to 50k (if you are in the top 10% in this area of the country). Sure there are people who make 100k, but they are living on Long Island and Manhattan. Ask them what they were making last year!! A 40% pay cut is average. It is a condescending, poorly run company with a big ego problem. |

They sent me into an interview on Christmas Eve and the district manager scolded me for showing up. I then listened him yelling at other employees for not selling mattresses on Christmas Eve and what were thinking on wanting to spend time with their families. He read me a list of questions from a form he had printed out and then told me it was the worst interview he could remember. I told him I really wouldnt want to work for a condeseding douche like him anyway and please dont hire me. They didnt and now I know why those guys always look like their going to have a heart attack. Sleepys Blows, if your scumbag then you should work there. |

In one town near me Riverhead,NY they opened 3 huge stores within a mile of eachother, what does that say for their sales people? Ther are pitching everyone against eachother, they have no regard for their commison only employees. |
