I am being interviewed for a store coach position at a Sears outlet Store. Can anyone tell me what to expect in terms of salary, bonus, and hours worked? I do have big box management experience.

Expect to be paid rock bottom for the industry and that the company will search for reasons not to pay any commissions and bonuses that you are told you will make. If your state excludes commission only employees from minimum wage then expect that you and most of your employees will be commission only and most will make significantly less than whatever the minimum wage is. They are always looking to reduce costs and not paying you is the easiest way for them to do it.

I'm not saying that there aren't good managers- some of the managers are outstanding, but there are some real scumbags mixed in there and corporate keeps constant pressure on them to find reasons to dock the employees pay.

In my state they found a way to circumvent the payroll deductions law (the law says the employee has to agree to any payroll deductions). Well Sears has you sign 100 forms now before you can start, and one of them says that you haven't actually earned any money until they calculate any deductions for mistakes, customer returns/cancellations, etc. So now they can say whatever money they take from your pay is a "reduction" and not actually a "deduction" so it's not covered under the law.

If you base your expectations on what they tell you in the interview you will be very dissapointed. They told me (never in writing) that I would make 60-70k and maybe as much as 100k with bonuses. In reality it was 18k.

I am not seeking a commission based position, this will be a salaried store manager position. Anyone have experience as a Sears store manager?

Most store managers are on some sort of commissioned bonus program, as are most of the store employee's. Sorry if that isn't the answer you were looking for, that's how it works though.
