okay, so I have been unemployed since Nov, 2008. Not from lack of trying but because Oregon has I think the highest or one of the top highest unemployment rates right now. So I submitted an application to the Sears by my house because they had a job posting on a job search site. I filled out my basic resume info, did their "personality assessment" (which is BS anyway because EVERYONE knows how to put down what they want to hear) and was shocked and happy to see that it was offering ME an OPPORTUNITY to schedule my own interview!!! WOOHOO!!! Well.. now I am wondering about that whole thing because I have found a pretty lengthy discussion on indeed.com and various other sites about individuals who went through the same thing and found out it was basically a scam! They show up and no one knows anything, some even got ignored. Now I am really worried because one of the only options it gave me was for Sunday May 31st at 3:30 pm. An interview on a Sunday at 3:30 with someone in HR?!?! I already know I will call the prior Thurs or Fri, but has anyone else had this experience? Did you find it was a waste of time? or did your interview time actually hold?
Also, what should I be prepared for? some people say no drug test, some people say they have you take one on the spot (should I have a full bladder?! LOL) and some say you have a couple days to go take it. what kind of test is it? I should be fine on urine or saliva but if they pull your hair out I may not pass since I am a recovered addict and a hair test shows your past. I would find it hard to believe they would test for a cashier position in Oregon, I swear EVERYONE here smokes weed or does meth (awful stuff!! its sad how its taken over here). Its nuts. They would never hire anyone!! Anyway, what was your interview experience or LACK of interview experience? Thanks! |

oh and I know some of this has been discussed in other threads but the posts are from 1-2 years ago it seems. So I am looking for some more recent feedback |
