Just call the person who set up the interview and inform them that you would like to reschedule if possible. If they are serious about you, they will not mind re-scheduling it.

My interview was confirmed and it reflected on my email about the date and time for a job interview in Sears, Canoga. When I got there, the personnel in HR told me that there is no vacant for the position I applied, I reasoned out that I saw the job opening on many career sites and they emailed me for the date of my interview. Something wrong with their online job application?

Same thing happen to me when i applied for sears. I applied to be a soft lines appeal associate. And they told me receiving is the only opening i dint think nothing of it and i went in there and it was a pure nightmare i quit after orientation

I think they put those listings up so people can apply and they can throw them on less staffed areas

Best solution to a interview problem is call them up say FU and you would never work for such a horrid company and have a pleasant day.

Fenixxishot:

That is the dumbest advice I've heard all day. I'm sure you were kidding, right?

People: the best thing to do is to actually call and confirm your interview ahead of time. Don't just assume that it's done because you receieved an email. Lot's of companies use automated sytems.

The bottom line is to be professional. You never know who the person you pissed off knows. People in HR and Recruiting often know who their counterparts are at other companies and they sometimes get together and talk . . .

No I was not kidding. Sears as a company is not what it was like 25 years ago. I promise I know more about this company than most. For example sears stock is at 80 dollars a share as of today I know I have watched it shed over 100 points in the past year. Did you know that the property Sears owns excluding all other investments and merchandise would put the stock value at over 140 dollars a share. Also did you know that Sears has more liquid assets on hand than any other retail company excluding walmart. Now doesn't this make one wonder what is traversing the mind of Mr. Lampert, why would any CEO want to have his stock sinks so low but yet dump endless amounts in to his hedge fund. This man is doing what he does best, just like with other companies he drives the stock price down, buys up the stock, then sells off chuck by chunk and makes a tidy profit. The really screwy part is if Sears went bankrupt today Lampert would give a crap less he has billions tied up in his hedge fund.
