What do you think -- is this company going to survive and thrive? Are they looking to expand their staff, or do you think layoffs are inevitable?

How does Siemens stack up against the competition?

Remember this Company helped the Nazis, and still has legal
suits against it from the old great WW2.
Maybe that explains the 10 hours days in NYC

Long live Siemens

I agree. These "educated" people should at least become familiar with Seimen's history and consider the many long term employees throughout the world. Maybe then they can share their words of wisdom.

How does Siemens stack up against the competition?

It is an aggressive engineering worldwide conglomerate that has demonstrated it’s capability in providing turn-key solutions from Medical, Power Generation, Transportation, Water Resources (Reprocessing), Physical Security Systems (fire alarm) to Communication Systems and Devices. With a diversify workforce of more then 400,000, 70,000 employed in the States, it’s leadership has been able to sustain it‘s employment growth by dynamically focusing on growth markets and divesting from mature markets. This naturally translates in its ability to provide generous HR benefits. The core market areas the Company has focus upon has exceeded expectations as demonstrated by the dramatic increase in its stock value against less agile competitors such a GE. Overall, considering the challenges of global competition, moving from an industrial age to knowledge base industry, Siemens has performed remarkable as a Company.
