Don't apply for a job here unless you are willing to work mega amounts of hours! Extremely stressful, workload is incredible. Pay you well to get you in the door. Dishonest, no training, most employees hate it. High turnover... Purely clerical.... Incredible that any company would hire them as consultants... files are a mess, no organization, always emergencies....blind leading the blind

During certain times of the year there are extra hours that are shared by a team of EA's, as is with ANY accounting practice. Stress is subjective and for some it can be overwhelming. In my experience at SMART (in 3 departments), there is always help available. I wouldn't say most employees hate it, as I am sure over 70% have been here for over 5 years. As with any rapidly growing company, with growth comes growing pains.....SMART is always looking to get better and to streamline any processes that they can. The emergency and blind comments aren't even worth a reply. As I posted before, this person just seems as if they weren't happy and unfortunately, that does happen at times. I wouldn't take any ONE person's opinion. If you are interested, go and see for yourself.

Does anyone know how much they start off their tax associates? do they give out bonuses? do they pay for grad school and the cpa exam prep and exam? HOw many hours does one work? Is it family friendly, meaning, are they flexible if one of your kids are sick? Any helpful information appreciated.

Bonuses....advertise they do but not much...even top dogs get like 4K...big joke...

CPA -yes, no pay for school, say they are family friendly but at associate level the happy people consist of the singles that don't mind being workaholics.

SMART's an exciting growing company. Family-friendly with flexibilty and good time off. Demanding but pays well. I'd check it our for yourself, it would be worth the effort.
