Every business has it's own style. What is the office environment and culture like at Southwest Business? Are people dressed in business casual, jeans and t-shirts, or full-on suits? Do folks get together for Friday happy hours and friendly get-togethers? What is a typical day in the life of an employee at Southwest Business? |

I was recently offered a position at Southwest Business Corporation. Has anyone out there worked at SWBC, and if so, tell me your experience! |

I have worked out there (SWBC) but not for long and it depends what area if you work in the San Pedro office you should be fine but, if you are working in the Farion Rd location watch out what dept you go to if it's the Data Entry or Customer Service your screwed, The management is Crappy and they micro-manage, Dress code is way over board it's business Professional don't know why, you cant have radio at desk, can't eat at desks unless it's a small bag of chips, pictures and trinkets at work station are to be minimal 3 famly pics and nothing to hang on cubical walls, any kind of jacket or shirt cannot hange on backs of chairs, you get royally docked for 5 absents written up even if it's due to your child unless your one of the managers faverits, the occurences are just for call center or data entry depts. Oh and yes the some of the managers play faverits expecially if you bring them gifts. There are so many nit-picky things they will write you up for no cell phone usage except in brake rooms. Not bathroom or hallways or desk.SWBC (FARION RD) THE CONTACT CENTER IS THE WORST PLACE TO WORK IN SAN ANTONIO. |

I was going through an employment agency and was offered a data entry job there. The pay was average for the job (data entry), but the list of rules, dress code stuff, etc. freaked me out and I told them "Thanks, but no thanks!". I already had a job and was just looking fo rmore money and quickly decided it was not worth it with the fascist culture they seem to have. Oh, and the no smoking policy; I was told that I not only could I not smoke there (I can handle that) but I couldnt' be AROUND smoke on my OFF time, even riding in the car with my spouse who smokes would be grounds for termination if they "caught a whiff" when I came in! Whatever! For $10 an hour!? |
