Ditto for the Atlanta office. But, hey, it's Atlanta! These agencies, like so many that I have tried, blow on ice! It seems their only interest is to rush you of the phone: "Okay I'll put you on our 'availability list'." Click! Hey, you barely even got my first name, you indifferent ***! Can't we get some federal monitoring of these operations? What a freakin' farce!

I WOULD LIKE TO SAY THAT THE RECRUITERS DEAL WITH HUNDREDS OF FOLKS. LIKE YOU THEY ARE TRYING TO DO THE JOB THEY CAN. IF YOU NOTICE RECRUITERS WILL ASK YOU TO CHECK AS WELL.

SIT IN THEIR SEAT FOR ONE DAY AND YOU WILL REALIZE WHAT A VERY BUSY AND IMPORTANT JOB THEY HAVE. THEY WANT TO PUT EVERYONE OUT TO A JOB. BUT YOU HAVE TO HAVE THE QUALIFICATIONS THAT THEIR CLIENTS ARE LOOKING FOR.

PATIENT MY FRIEND - DO NOT PUT DOWN SOMEONE WHOM YOU DO NOT KNOW!!

GaryTennessee in Gallatin, Tennessee said: I will never again have anything to do with this pathetic organization, frankly I think they discriminate against Caucasian people.

First of all Gary, it was completely your own fault that you did not get the position. First, you went to see her in your jeans. Even though you were on your way to the gym, you should have stopped in a clothing store to buy a nice dress shirt , pants and shoes. Or turned the car around and gone right back home to dress up before seeing Ms. Nunez again. Don't you know that appearance counts when trying to obtain a job?

I am sure that she sees many people through out the day and talks to just as much on the phone. How is she supposed to remember what you said to her about going to the gym. Nor should she even care about where you were going.

You act like you were doing her a favor by showing up to see her, when in fact she is doing you a favor and a service by getting you a job. You GUUMBA??

So here I am again, with MORE complaints about Spherion.
It's been nearly 3 months since I was laid off, and I'm still forced to deal with this HORRIBLE company.

Today's issue: an address change.

Due to being laid off, I was forced to move because I could no longer afford my last apartment. I notified Katie Piercy, Spherion, IL, of my address change on December 20th, 2007 and asked her to make sure my W2 is sent to my new address.

She replied telling me to contact local recruiter Richard Katz (and she did not include his contact info. thanks.)
So, I emailed Richard Katz my new address, also on December 20th... NO REPLY.

So, today, I emailed him again asking him to confirm receipt of the email.
Instead of getting a reply from him, I get a reply from Katie Piercy telling me she had updated my address, but my W2 will be sent to the address they had on file as of December 31st.
She did NOT say which address that is though!

I wrote back stating that since I contacted both her AND Katz on Dec. 20th, she should be sure to send a copy to my new, correct address. I await her snarky reply.

These people treat their consultants like crap. I can't wait to receive my W2, the last piece of correspondance, and finally be rid of this f-ing company for good.

First of all, I do work for Spherion, and I am sorry that anyone has had a negative experience with my company. I do not doubt that some have had a negative experience while working with Spherion, and I do regret that these things have happened. I hope that your next experience with Spherion is better than your first, that is assuming that you will give us a second chance. Although we cannot find everyone a job, we can certainly treat you with the dignity and respect that you deserve.

i worked for spherion back in 2011 out in lakewood ohio. after applying and taking a drug test. i got offered a job in about 2 weeks. sweet i thought. 10.62hr 3rd shift easy packaging position. great pay for a single guy with no kids. well 2nd week came around. i had their pay card to receive my paycheck. pay day comes.....no cash. so i had to wait until late monday to get paid. my other complaint is being lied to. was told as long as i come to work ill have a job. assignment lasted 2 months. than was told they'll call me start of 2012...never happened. i liked the company i was placed at though, nice people and all. but at spherion, one lady worker was a witch always had an attitude. i'd go through them again if i found out she didnt work there. on a side note, 2 of the people i went with smoked weed and passed the mouth swab drug test, so its obvious she didnt give a damn who she placed on the job cause it came up positive for both.

Fu*k Spherion. Fu*k Jay Ko.

Yeah, hate to sound like the last 30 seconds of every rap song ever, but that company is just awful. They got me a job at a company that made plastic pipe elbows. It was full time, 7pm to 7am, for minimum wage. $6.79 an hour(this was 2008). To stand in one spot, for 12 hours (with a 1 hour lunch and 2 15 minute breaks), and count plastic pieces, put them in a box, and repeat. Whatever, I needed a job.

After about 2 months, I found a job as a mechanic for a Dodge dealership. This paid considerably more, had great benefits, and was more in my field. So I put in my 2 weeks notice, worked it, and left. After a couple of years, the economy in my area decided it couldn't support our dealership, and we closed down.

In need of a job again, I contacted Spherion. They got me set up for an interview at a company for a temp to perm position that paid decent. At about 8pm the night before the interview, I got a call from Jay Ko, "Staffing Specialist", who told me they could not move forward with the interview, as I was not eligible for work with Spherion anymore. I asked why, and Jay told me that I had "walked out" on a job in 2008 at a plastics company. I explained to him that this was not the case, and that I worked my 2 weeks, and explained this to my local Spherion office at the time. He said he understands, and that he has "seen this happen quite a bit", but that there was nothing he could do.

So, people get screwed "quite a bit", through no fault of their own, and Spherion is still unwilling to budge on this policy? No case-by-case basis for anyone? No "let's contact the employer and look into the matter"?

A company like Spherion is in a position to help a lot of people. When they choose not to help, because of a strict black/white line in the sand concerning their policy, when their own management admits to the companies error, then they are willfully hurting the economy, and this country.

So fu*k Spherion and fu*k Jay Ko.

Recruiters and schools come on here and pose as job seekers and talk about how they are so lucky to get accepted into some store front shopping school program. They pose as happy girls who got into some program and how this is their "hopes and dreams". :P

It is what it is. They are trying to give others false hope about saturated job markets with jackedup school prices. It seems nowadays, anyone can open a school. They make it all so formal and such, but at the end, you're on your own to find a job among the masses.

RELee in Moberly, Missouri said: The New Century plant sees a lot of turn over and a lot of experienced workers sent home and not able to work a 40 hour week. Whenever I came back from "Forced Unpaid Time Off" I spoke to forklift drivers Pete and Bailey and Line workers Phil and Bruce about if Spherion was bringing in new people while I sat at home. All four confirmed that Spherion constantly brings in new hires, even though they already have people willing and (no pun intended here) able to work. The supervisors were condescending and down right mean. the Line Leads, Forklift Drivers, and Line Workers are nice people, but in the end, it's only the supervisors who count.

So if an unstable schedule and the ability to be fired at any time for any reason sounds like your dream job, look Spherion up. They'll be happy to hire you and send you to New Century, which is an industrial air center in the middle of BFE. Just make sure to pack a lunch or be willing to eat and haul asre if you go out, you only have 30 mintues for lunch. So much for safety first.

Just another company making money for the higher ups and the workers don't count. The people who do the work don't matter, and the rest are the elite. You see this with politics and other forms of self-appointed "royalty".

totally agree on federal monitoring of the whole IT contractor system. It's anti EOE and keeps folks out of work(due to the greed/exclusivity of the middlemen). There is no shortage of IT talent. There is just a system in place that oppresses the talent by offering low pay(even though the client is paying the middleman a lot). not allowing the talent to speak with the client(show them their skills)and being at the mercy of "recruiters" who discriminate against age, color, gender, salary requirements and aren't technically proficient in the knowledge required to match the right candidates.

When it comes to temp agencies, I'm a walking disaster. I've registered with them all. At least they're looking at my resumes. I have one general-all purpose version that I use as a template which recruiters can go by. When there is a very specific position (locally) that I am qualified for, then I'll tweak it for the hiring manager.

Dear sir,
I don't believe Marie's opinion or experience calls for you to lecture her-in all caps-along with the "high horse" comment.
I have over 2 dozen(24)resumes out with no bites.
I am currently dealing with a Spherion Staffing office here in my home town. Every time I visit and speak with the person assigned to me, the conversation lasts about 5 minutes, and is always interrupted with a "conference call". There are two(2)jobs in my area that Spherion is trying to fill. I asked if I met all the qualifications for Spherion Staffing to help me find employment, and I was told that I had. I mentioned to the staff person assigned to help me that I had found a job opening, that I easily qualified for, on another employment search web site that Spherion was assigned to help fill. Her response was, she had to talk with her co-workers because she knew nothing of that opening. It seems to me that Sherion should have one data base in which they all have access to for the benefit of the job seeker. I'm getting the impression that they aren't going to help me find a job.
As far as you being a Spherion Recruiter-I can respect your passion-but NOT your conflict resolution abilities. You are a bad representation of the company. Marie was frustrated, upset and venting. You sir, did the same thing. THAT'S the 'pot calling the kettle black'. Maybe you should have hit delete instead of send. Spherion in Reading, PA is a joke! They sent myself and 19 other ppl to a job that was temporary only. When we arrived at the company, we went through an orientation process where the head of human resources for this particular company informed us all that it was a temporary assignment lasting only a week. After the dumb founded looks on our faces, she asked "how many ppl here did not know this was a temporary assignment"? 15 out of the 20 ppl in the room raised their hands and said no one at spherion informed us of the position being temporary. The human resources lady indicated that this has happened with spherion in the past also. The 2 recruiters at spherion knew had they divulged that the position was temporary lasting a week, there is no way on Gods green earth would they have gotten 20 ppl to fill that job order. Matter fact, they wouldn't have been able to get 10 ppl to fill that order! After finding out that the position was only for a week I called spherion the next morning and asked the recruiter there why they didn't express to us that the job was only a week in duration? The recruiter then blatantly lied to me and said, "we told all of you it was a temporary position". I told her, you absolutely did not tell us this, because if you had there is no way you would've gotten 20 ppl in a room together to fill that job order! She then said, I'm not going to argue with you and hung up the phone on me. On top of all this, when I went to the spherion office to the hiring paperwork, I signed up for direct deposit of my pay into my bank account. When payday arrived spherion gave me a pay card with my pay attached to it like a debit card. So I asked why was my pay not deposited into my account, the recruiter said she was on vacation when I submitted my paperwork, another blatan lie! I guess she forgot that I walked right past her desk and held a brief conversation with her the day I submitted my paperwork! Stay away from spherion in Reading, PA

Spherion destroyed my trust in any temp agency, my first and my last. Been trouble from the first day I worked, doing what I was told but trying to blame something on me that so obviously not my fault. Like I'm a lower level of worker because I work for a temp like Spherion. They are almost late on my paycheck every week. When we are going to get a bonus, its always some BS excuse. Acting like its something new but yet it was promise on a certain pay check. Things are always excused, and fake apologizes. They have an office full of people that must take lunch the whole shift. Might as well go work for a Quataring recruiter, cause its not like they haven't already moved in on my civil rights.

I was told by a woman at state run employment office that more and more companies are relying ON temp agencies. First off, they dont have to deal with anything thats going to cost money and paperwork to the companies, secondly, hey if the employer or anybody in upper management doesnt like you for ANY reason no matter how illegal it is, BOOM out the door they go, also without dealing with the losses of any profits belonging to the company..

AND, if you are all going to bash Spherion let ME add MY two bits on this.. Theres a sign on the door at the local office requiring you that you MUST remove you hat AND glasses BEFORE walking in.. this sign is NOT printed and doesnt have any spherion logos on it or identification of any kind as in a OFFICIAL company policy, THAT means the the "human" behind the desk wrote it for "its" own protection, Meaning that theres a camera pointed right at the door just in case "it" pisses off somebody and starts threating "it".. The "human" behind that desk has a very good reasons for posting a sign like this and its very safe to assume that "it" HAS pissed off more then a few potential workers who was looking for work and was FORCE to go to that office.

This "human" was snooty, VERY unprofessional, hostile, snippy and rude.. of course I could on but why continue to show "its" positive side.. *ROTFLTFAO* Even If I DID have a picture of this sign and contacted the corporate office, guess what would happen.... nothing, spherion doesnt care if they piss off some nobody, theres MORE then enough other suckers walking the streets looking for good solid work.

They cheated me out of my so called "Insurance" as my wife was in the hospital and I also never got to use the insurance I paid into for 4 months. I also was laid off my job on my B- day. Go figure. Spherion also lied to the Government when I was unemployed and disabled, taking care of my infant and making my wife work. When I was attempting to sign up for unemployment Spherion told an adjudicator I was still employed with them when I was not and trying to receive disability as my back went out. I could not even walk and they lied to the Utah Government adjudicator, so they would not have to pay for the required unemployment I stood in position to receive. They are a horrible, lying bunch of strange business tycoons. Not impressed at all with these idiots... Lying and corruption and stealing from the weak and innocent is not a company I would ever consider applying with.
