Do they contact the employer for and give you a reference , do they call you on the phone and quiz you on your interveiw techniques? Really what do they do outside of taking your money. Are you serious? People may need assistance to find a job but this company is not providing it. And as far as everone wrote no one across the country has found a job, so PORKY be quiet, the only reason they are in business is because they probably cover their ass with sound form of legal bull. They just said they are in business for a long time where is the information in some legal website that can verify this, anyone can say anything, PLEASE STOP THE MADNESS. You are heloing people lose their hard earned money and you should be ashamed of yourself. IF THIS COMPANY IS SO REPUTABLE, THEN YOU SHOULD BE GIVING THE MONEY BACK TO THOSE PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT HAPPY WITH YOUR SERVICES!!! SDG CLAIMS THAT THEY HAVE MANY MANY HAPPY CUSTOMERS, AND IF THAT IS THE CASE, THEN WHY RIP OFF THOSE WHO ARE NOT HAPPY WITH YOUR SERVICES, AS I AM NOT!! YOU WILL NOT EVEN RETURN PHONE CALLS OR ANSWER YOUR PHONES...IF YOU WERE A GOOD COMPANY YOU WOULD BE DOING EVERYTHING IN YOUR POWER TO MAKE AND KEEP YOUR CUSTOMERS HAPPY, INSTEAD YOU KEEP POSTING COMMENTS ON HERE THAT YOU ARE A GOOD COMPANY. EVERYONE ON THIS SITE FEELS THEY HAVE BEEN RIPPED OFF.... SO GOOD COMPANY (or so you claim) GIVE THE MONEY BACK TO THOSE WHO ASK FOR IT AND STOP RIPPING NEW PEOPLE OFF!!! YOU HAVE DONE NOTHING TO PROVE OTHERWISE! |

My word of advice; If it's not on USAJOBS.GOV, then it isn't a government job. I called these guys yesterday and asked them if they were linked to this site. He didn't even know the site exsisted. Mind you that USAJOBS.GOV is the official site of federal employment. |

Sherry H in Santa Barbara, California said: Lisa, it's no secret that I have worked with Standard Data Group as I mentioned in one of my posts. If everyone was a brilliant as you, they would not need Schools or Services that educate the public in any manner. I do know the owners of the company and first hand of the services that are provided, including the refunds that are issued, which validates that they are a legitimate company, and the professional manner in which their business is conducted. There is no high pressure sales tactics, or abusive language as some telemarketing companies practice. The industry standard for any company that offers a Work At Home Opportunity is automatically categorized as an At Risk Business and will be grouped into an F rated business, regardless if they are a legitimate company or not. I believe in this company and their efforts in the service that they provide, and will be sure to start telling the people who are receiving their great service to start posting on this site. There are always going to be people who can't follow directions, read the information provided, work their own computer, including reading their CD disk drives. That's why companies have a Customer Service Department...and be sure to check your telephone service carrier to see why your calls are being dropped before assuming that you're being hung up on. I can only hope that enough people that have received hours of help with this company, post to this site and give them a big thanks for all that they do! Happy job hunting. Sherry, I call tollfree and they pretend they're too busy, leave a message. I hang up w/out doing so, guy calls back. It was too funny cause he was acting like it was so selective and wanted to be sure I'm over 18 , US citizen w/ a HS diploma. check, check, check, I'm in.Yipee! so I say is there a fee? He says 69. refundable. I say let me research the co. I'll contact you. He HANGS UP ON ME. NOT my phone service. Good try Sher |

I just got off the phone with a representative. Scam scam scam. It sounded like I was talking to a snotty teenage girl in her mom's basement. When I asked questions she got defensive, and I told her she was being rude, and her response was a really choppy teeny bopper tone telling me I was rude because she already explained things to me. Which she did not. Kept pushing for the $69.00 Run the other way. Lisa in Winston Salem, North Carolina said: Hi Andrea, |

Wow! This is crazy! I won't pay my money until I can find out more about the company--like who are the "Owners". I want to verify myself that they have a business relationship with usajobs.gov and if they are so big in Los Angeles (as their website claims), it seems there should be testimonials. If there are so many thousands of people out there who did get jobs because they went on these interviews at a local federal government office, where are they? I would love to hear from them! Also, did you know that PayPal has a feature where it will randomly generate a card number for you for SINGLE use only?!! I use it all the time because I never want to give any business complete access to my real credit card info. What happens is you link your bank account to PayPal and they generate what's actually a MasterCard debit card number so only PayPal has your real info. I'v never had any problems and I've been doing this for 2 years. And PayPal has special features, like I can pull up a record of all the card numbers I generated and it tells me what company used it and the amount. So far I haven't had to ask for a refund from the company (not PayPal) so I can't speak to that but you don't have to be worried that the company tells you that you'll only be charged once and then hitting your credit card repeatedly because it only works one time. And there's no way the company knows from the number that it's only for one-time use!!!!! |

I was interested in the 100% flexiplace (work-from-home)federal jobs through Standard Data Group. I spoke to a gentleman named Jim. He was quite pleasant on the phone but he did not seem to answer my questions for my comfort. He kept explaining their process but what I really wanted to know was how does Standard Data Group get the information about all the jobs , like did they have a contract or some type of special agreement with the federal government to be privvy to these jobs, especially when I had gone out to USAJOBS.gov, searched "flexiplace" and only 4 positions popped up. I had also seen the big fat "F" on the BBB website but wanted to believe I had found what I was looking for. In doing my due diligence to see if SDG was legit, when I searched "Standard Data Group in yellowpages.com in zip code 91604, there were no results for the company. I then did a reverse search on the phone number listed on SDG's website. I went to reversemobile.com and both the 888 number and Jim's "direct number" minus his extension, came up as CELL PHONE NUMBERS!!! And when I called both numbers, it was the exact same message in the exact voice! I really wanted this company to be legit but the absolute final straw was when I sent an email to the Office of Personnel Management and to USAJOBS.gov. I will post the text of my email to USAJOBS.gov and their response on a separate reply because it's too lengthy to include but stay tuned... |

Here is Part 1 of the reply I received from usajobs.gov: Information on Job Opportunity Announcements with the Federal Government and the Postal Service is provided free of charge. However, many Americans are victimized by scam artists selling information about Federal job opportunities. These scam artists place classified advertisements in newspapers, magazines, and periodicals offering--for a fee--to help Job Seekers locate and apply for Federal jobs. Some companies go so far as to use names that imply affiliation with the Federal Government, such as the "U.S. Agency for Career Advancement," or "Postal Employment Service." Many of these companies advertise the availability of large numbers of Federal jobs in local areas, while in reality few or none may actually exist. For example, the Postal Service has few vacancies for permanent, full-time jobs. Postal Service hiring takes place through 85 district offices at the local level. Openings are announced for a very short time. Your local post office is the best source of information concerning current or anticipated openings. The U.S. Office of Personnel Management's Federal Employment Information System is the official source for employment information and contains Federal job listings as well as some state, local government and private sector listings. Remember, information about Federal job opportunities is available to the public free of charge, with the exception of local phone company charges for long distance calls. Federal agencies and the Postal Service never charge for applications, sell study guides for examinations, or guarantee that you will be hired. If an examination is required, the agency administering the examination typically offers free sample questions to applicants scheduled for the examination. |

Here is Part 2 of the reply I received from USAJOBS.gov: The Federal Trade Commission and the U.S. Office of Personnel Management urge consumers to protect themselves against job scams. Beware of advertisements or sales pitches containing: An implied affiliation with the Federal Government, a guarantee of high test scores or jobs, references to "hidden" or unadvertised job vacancies, or claims that "no experience is necessary." Referrals to a toll-free phone number. Often in these cases, an operator encourages you to buy a "valuable" booklet containing job listings, practice test questions, and tips for entrance examinations. These materials may be inaccurate, unnecessary, or available at no charge from the hiring agency. Toll-free numbers that direct you to pay-per-call numbers for more information. Under Federal law, any solicitations for pay-per-call numbers must contain full disclosures about cost. The solicitation must make clear if there is or is not an affiliation with the Federal Government. You must have a chance to hang up before you incur any charges. If you have concerns about an employment advertisement or a company offering employment services, you may contact the following:
The Federal Trade Commission works for the consumer to prevent fraudulent, deceptive, and unfair business practices in the marketplace and to provide information to help consumers spot, stop, and avoid them. Needless to say, I'm so disappointed! I took the liberty of letting Jim know that both numbers came up as cell phone numbers. He said they weren't, to which I simply said, I was only telling him what the website said. I've posted the results of my due diligence for you to make your decision. I hope I saved you some time and effort! I just left a voicemail message at OPM. If I get a return phone call, I'll post that as well. I knew it seemed too good to be true! |

I talked with Jim King as well. For almost 45 minutes. He kept repeating himself. After numerous variations on my part of "Sounds too good to be true!", he finally got to the punchline, my credit card number. At that point I stopped him to suggest I check the company out, making mention that my sister is(was) a Deputy Director of OPM in DC. He became beligerent with me, using pharses to intimidate and make me feel foolish to not get in on the great deal. He slandered the government (not that that isn't well deserved at times) that he had insinuated had a contract with his company.
I did discuss with my sister. And I believe this forum and the letter writing is the best action we can take to protect others from this scam. I am thinking of writing to the newspaper. We have a Trouble Shooting column in the Chicago Tribune. Maybe someone who did send in that money could write there. They would surely get their refund and more importantly, the company would be exposed. |

Hello Andrea and everyone else wondering if Standard Data Group is legitimate. From my firsthand experience as an employee for a whopping 7 or 8 part-time days, I can tell you: NO. SDG IS NOT A LEGITIMATE COMPANY. IT IS A SCAM. It's a "TELESCAM" JOB -- not a "TELESALES" job. It takes advantage of people sincerely looking for a good job. You will note that this forum has the same question repeated over and over. Is Standard Data Group legitimate? That in itself gives you the answer. But I had to find out for myself. When a woman called very upset and crying, because she could not get a hold of the famous "Customer Support Team" who "will be there by your side to help you every step of the way..." That was all I could take. I took her number and helped her myself, since no one else gave a sh__. You have to deal with scammer scum at their level - file a fraud claim on em. You might feel better about what you've been through when you learn that SDG scams its own employees as well. I can be certain that I will not be paid the money they owe me. The "supervisors" use aliases, and cell phones, so don't count on finding anyone by name. The addresses are nothing but a front. Your best bet is or contact your credit card company or bank and file a fraud claim immediately. Also write to the Federal Trade Commission, or your local BBB, or President Obama. There is no telling where your credit card information could end up. They also took your security code -- I don't believe they are supposed to have that information! If they were legit, they would not need that information. SDG is a FAKE AND A FRAUD at minimum. There are a few of us who still possess a conscience and who put people above greed, or even necessity. I am one of those and I would rather retain my integrity than be involved with any further fleecing of America. I hope my reply will do you all some good. So be it if they sue me or shoot me. They are not getting away with this.♥Terbea |

If you pay these people any money, you are wasting it and throwing away time and effort that is best directed at going directly to the federal job listing website. You don't get a job with SDG. You get a list of job openings. It's very unsettling to see that so many people are falling for this. Most of all, it's unsettling to see people on here pretending to be working with SDG as happy campers. SDG is a scam. DO NOT FALL FOR IT. A little effort and research online will show that to you all. |

Thank you to everyone for posting. I had my credit card in my hand when she added the oh yea, it will also be $10.95 for shipping. It's a lot of information we will be sending you and the US Postal Service requires we charge that much. I told her I have her number and I would call her back. Then I found this forum. I am so glad I did not give her my card number. I am employed full time but was looking into the work from home jobs because I work 50 miles from where I live. Thanks again to everyone for letting us know that this company can't really do any more for us than we can do ourselves. Good Luck to you all and God Bless! |

I just had the opportunity to speak with Mr. King. Last night he returned my call from the morning. He left a detailed message about the job(s) and clearly stated that I could either call back that night before 9:00 pm EST or after 9:00 am EST the next day since he was three hours behind. I just got off from my PT 3-11 shift so calling after 9:00 am was the best option.
This seems to be the kind of people who prey on the weakminded, those who are going thorough desperate times or want to make easy money. Don't let them manipulate or guilt you into this. Their mind games will catch up with them. |

Well, they are back in Toledo, Ohio. One of our job searchers found them on careerbuilder.com. Only, there is no mention of the Standard Data Group, but, I recognized the phone number. In this posting, they are looking for Administrative Clerical Office. Although it promises even more, this time they list the fee of $69 and their "return policy." I am so glad that I recognized this before our job searchers sent their clients the information. |

I called and got the too good to be true spiel. Jobs paying more than the market brings for the position, no cost insurance for your whole family, guaranteed interview, etc. etc. and now the catch...No application or written guarantee until you give them your credit information over the phone. As they say "If it sounds too good to be true..." |

You know the real sad thing about all this? SDG is contunually signing up people everyday and there's so many people!! You just have to go with your gut instinct with these guys. They are no more than let's say, an infomertial. What they are actually is a telemarketing agency. It's just that they get the calls so it's inbound for them. I know, they try and make their company sound very legit... and they technically are, but you just have to decide for yourself whether you really need their help or not. I can give this advice if you've had a serious problem with them:

Andrea in Indianapolis, Indiana said: I'm thinking seriously about applying with Standard Data You know what??? DO NOT DO IT! I did, and after seeing all these messages, I decided to call them yesterday which was Saturday and first her name is Amy then in the SAME call it turned into Julie and she NEVER allowed me to speak about what I experienced because SHE HANG UP ON ME. I am stubborn though and would NOT let that stop me I just called back MANY times over, kept on being sent to the part where they "offered" to call me back so on and so on! I don'y know how many times I called over and over, and she would pick up and just basically say DUDE, yes she answered with that name for me and went on to say how I was not going to get help yesterday. She would talk over me and not allow me to get in one word edgewise and then hang up on me!!!!! Yhe website says something about friendly customer service! I got anything BUT! I got taken for my money so far, I don't care how long it takes or what I need to do, but I WILL get my money back! And a word to everyone, although it takes a lot of money but they can be sued I am certain. Perhaps if someone were to copy there main website for starters so they can't pull it from the internet and then maybe a petition get signed and other things like that that could bankrupt that company because if enough people sue them, that is something that could be the end result and all the poor people like myself who have nothing else in the world right now who got taken might get a little satisfaction. So please to you and to all others thinking about going for this "opportunity" DON'T! Save your money and same your sanity and piece of mind, oh and save YOUR precious time! And it is correct, you should never pay to get a job! Thanks for listening. Good Luck! |

Yea, the environment in which these people work in is a disgrace! These are some desperate people, I'll tell ya. I honestly thought that all telemarketing places were liars, but that's not true!!!! This place however is THE KING of slum. I wouldn't trust some of the people that they have working there answering phones... After reading these posts you've got to know something's not right! You know, when you google something to see if it's good or bad like a movie, you get mixed responses... Some say it was great, some say it wasn't worth the money, some say it was good, but with SDG, ALL YOU GET BACK IS NO NO NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And that lady is right... If someone really puts their foot down and sues their little project people will be happier and people will be safer. There will be one less predator out there to hook and sink you!!!! |
